Tonight, 2/11. Sorry, no Sheryl scheduled to appear. :P The chat'll go on for 2 hours and then they'll do trivia. Everyone's welcome. Happy Birthday Sheryl!!!! I was telling everyone today at school that it was her birthday. :) lol I used that, as well as my good report card, as an excuse for a cake. ;) Ummm...if you'll excuse me, I have to go get another piece. Thank god for a fast metabolism, huh? Thank you, Sheryl, for being born today. :) And thank you, my teachers, for giving me A's. But most of all, happy birthday Sheryl. :) :) Kate ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Feb 2000 15:25:15 EST From: SCFANCLUB2@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Happy Birthday Happy Birthday to Sheryl, and big thank you to Hilary for putting the book together this year!!! Also, do we have any Dartmouth students here?? Check this out! Sheryl Crow named Montgomery Fellow at Dartmouth Updated 12:00 PM ET February 9, 2000 By Mark Bubriski The Dartmouth Dartmouth College (U-WIRE) HANOVER, N.H. -- Five-time Grammy award winner Sheryl Crow is coming to campus on Feb. 15 and 16 as the surprising first speaker in Dartmouth University's Montgomery Endowment's new Popular Culture Series. Crow, a renowned singer, songwriter, actress and musician, will be speaking to several classes and giving a talk and performance on Feb. 15 at 4:30 p.m. in Spaulding Auditorium. She has won five Grammy awards, including last year's Best Rock Album for "The Globe Sessions," and has sold over 13 million records. Crow was trained as a classical pianist and taught elementary school music before turning to performing in the early 1990s, getting her first break singing backup for Michael Jackson. In 1994, Crow won her first Grammy for "All I Wanna Do," which won Record of the Year. It was the first single released from her debut album "Tuesday Night Supper Club." [eh?? SUPPER??] Crow also has been involved with several social causes as well as being a performer. She has supported efforts to eliminate land mines and has offered benefit concerts to support educational scholarships, the Special Olympics and the fight against poverty, among other charitable causes. "It's just so fortunate that she could come -- she doesn't do this often," Barbara Gerstner, the assistant provost of the College and executive director of the Montgomery Endowment, said. [cut] The "Power and the Presidency" event is open to the public while the Crow talk will be open only to Dartmouth students. For the latter, tickets for reserved seats will be available on Monday morning at the Hopkins Center Box Office to students with their College I.D. Only one ticket is allowed per student. I drove everyone crazy today at school because all day I was like "Do you know what today is?" and I was pissed off at the sucky yet most popular radio station because they failed to mention Sheryl on their celebrity birthdays. I don't like that station anyways. I will quit rambling now, but once again I hope Sheryl has a wonderful birthday. So now I have a new victim to convert to Sherylism. lol :) Oh, they did mention her birthday on TRL, but among like 3 other people's birthdays. Hmph. How rude. They should have given her her own mention and a little tribute. lol!! :) Kate ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Feb 2000 19:06:43 -0500 From: "Christina Clark" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] WOOHOO HAPPY BIRTHDAY MS.
