I also did the same for "If It Makes You Happy" ( country version, storytellers) and the Billy Joe song (storytellers)...If anyone wants them, please e-mail me..Or if someone has webspace that they can put it up on that'd be great. I met Michael in 1956 at Easter time. We were visiting a neighboring state, where my grandmother lived. He got a kite out of a tree for me. He was 9 and I was 4 at the time. I didn't see him again until April 1968, on a carnival ground. He was on crutches, leg in a cast, having had his leg blown apart by a mine that blew in Viet Nam. I wouldn't see him again until January 1969, when he was discharged. I fell in love forever then, as my poem says. I don't know where you are coming from, but I know Sheryl didn't steal your poem. I'm sure you wrote the words you're talking about but lots of people write poems, in fact i have a couple from girls who signed my yearbook way back when. Sheryl is one very classy lady and if she had received the lyrics from you she would have given you the credit that's the kind of person she is! Sheryl is featured in the live version of What's Going On (Marvin Gaye cover) on Los Lobos' latest album, This Time. It's a Japan only bonus track. Personally I wish Sheryl would do this with Daryl Hall because it's a staple number for Hall & Oates concert. But anyway...
