Essentially , every month makeup artist Kevin A..I'm not going to even try and spell it without it being in front of me...has a column in the mag in which he talks about various people that he has made over , etc. Anyway, he opens with "Could I love Sheryl Crow anymore?" or something to that effect. He goes on to say that she's one of the funniest and most down to earth people he's ever worked with. Sorry for the rambling ... it's early :-) Oh, on the birthday book side of things . . . it's almost done ! Very cool looking I must say . I will update the page soon with new names ... I promise :-) Hilary ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Feb 2000 09:14:03 EST From: FadedSign@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] Sheryl Crwo Tribute Band I was surfing the web today and came across some information: Sheryl Crow has a tribute band called "Favorite Mistake" It has 6 members in the band and they have a website (although there is nothing on it) @ www.favoritemistake.com.bi Also, they were founded in 1999 and they have no recordings as of yet. It appears they are canadian. Thats about all I know right now. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 04 Feb 2000 15:55:41 +0100 From: Brigitte & Michael Subject: [sheryl-crew] Ah! Another person who needs help You know that Knitpoet guy or whatever, something similair has been going on in the Sarah McLachlan newsgroup. There someone with a mental illness was and is still posting but not bitching about Sarah. His posts are just a little bit scary. I've been on the internet since the beginning of 1996 along with well I think the first flood of internetusers. And well you can see how much the internet has changed since then. Anyone can get access (here it's even free!), get free e-mailaddy's so it's obvious that you come across people like this knowitpoet. But hey they are human too, you got them in your real life too, and now on the internet. Just ignore it, like you do in real life! BTW I have read 2 times now that the grammy's will be on February 23rd, I thought it was February 18th? Can anybody clear this up for me? I thought maybe some of you might find this interesting - I know it sure has blown my mind! If you recall, there was an album released by a group called TDF and it was rumored that this was Eric Clapton's secret side-project. One of the songs, "What She Wants," was rumored to have vocals by Sheryl and Tony Rich (R&B singer). In the song, you hear a female voice (which does sound quite a bit like Sheryl's) reciting some lyrics, as follows: "In the past she's been far too open. She needs to straighten things out, she says, take a few lessons from [edited] and impose a bit of distance. A beat later, she is adopting a role that falls somewhere between fly-on-the-wall and stalker. And this is the way it goes when she declares her intentions to be cooler with outsiders. In any case, in this instance, distance is difficult to maintain. She declares her intentions to be cooler with outsiders, to watch out for that sort of thing won't happen again, about somebody who certainly looks like her, though she doesn't recognize the half of what she says - and then she thinks, what the hell? It's tiresome to always be on guard. Any case, in this instance, distance is difficult to maintain. Adopting a role that falls somewhere between fly-on-the-wall and stalker, as she carries out her London engagements . . . That sort of thing won't happen again, she says. I'm much more in control of everything now." Do the words sound familiar? Well they might not. Unless you've recently read a Sheryl Crow article by the name of "Make me Look Like Sheryl Crow" which appeared in UK's Q magazine, December 1996. Here are the beginning paragraphs of the article: - ---------------------- The last time she was featured in these pages Sheryl Crow showed off her knickers. Not intentionally, you understand. It was just the way the photograph worked out: the play of light, the sheer clothes . . . "That sort of thing won't happen again," she says. "I'm much more in control of everything now." Crow has decided that in the past she's been far too open. She needs to straighten things out, she says, take a few lessons from Madonna and impose a bit of distance. A beat later, she is pointing out the tiny bags beneath her eyes. "Shit, have you seen the size of them? They look as if they're made of leather." And this is the way it goes with Crow. She declares her intentions to be cooler with outsiders, to watch out for those pesky journalists who write about somebody who certainly looks like her, though she doesn't recognize the half of what she says and then she thinks, What the hell? It's "tiresome to be always on guard". Any case, in this instance, distance is difficult to maintain, since Q is to hang out with Crow - adopting a role that falls somewhere between fly on the wall and stalker as she carries out her London "engagements". - ---------------------- How weird is that??? I discovered it while doing research for Gregg's trivia game for Friday's fan chat. Basically, Sheryl recites an article about her throughout this song, with just a little bit of editing done. Viola . . . "What She Wants" by TDF, from the album RETAIL THERAPY. It's almost like "All I Wanna Do" all over again . . Did Sheryl show up or not? Also--a question about the "b-day chat" coming up: I registered w/ the Sherylcrowchat.com, but when I try chat, I just go around in circles, and get nowhere... ANy suggestions??? THanks a bunch! Brooke "I swear they're out there..." ( <> .. <> ) ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V3 #32 ********************************
