Either poet70 is telling the truth, or that was his/her greatest piece of writing to date. I wonder which? And even funnier (please dont flame me) is that (please dont flame me) the lyrics poet70 is talking about (please dont flame me) aren't that great, so its wierd she/he would want to take credit for them. On a totally unrelated note, I finally got Rocking the Glode and its awsome...but if i remember correctly, didn't she play Members Only twice that night? How come neither version made it onto the video? Best parts were Home and Difficult Kind, without a doubt. just my $0.02 cents. ~ Steve ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2000 14:20:20 -0600 (CST) From: "Michael L. I was surfing ebay looking for Sheryl stuff and I came upon this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251183754 It is Sheryl's senior yearbook from when she attended the University of Missouri. It says it is in Mint condition, and they are only asking $10 for an opening bid...I worked in the Savitar (the yearbook) office, and I know that they have only one copy of the yearbook, so you can't really buy them anyw here.Just thought I'd let y'all know because this seems pretty scarce if not rare. - --Michael ****************************************************************************** "...And I hear them saying 'You'll never change things, And no matter what you do it's still the same thing.' It's unlikely, but I guess it could happen. This is a good reason why poems and other creative writings should NOT be put in a scrapbook and sent to an artist. I know we did that for Sheryl's Birthday Book and I was going to say something then, but I did not. Apparently you guys have done it last year and had proof that Sheryl looked at or read the scrapbook, so it's probably not an issue with her. I'm a big fan of The Artist (formerly Prince) and some of my fellow fans and I put together a scrapbook for him several years ago. I specifically requested that no poems be included because The Artist might not even LOOK at the scrapbook for fear of a future lawsuit about stolen lyrics. The best way for an artist to avoid these types of lawsuits is not to look at or accept poetry from a fan. Because then 5 years later the fan could say, "I wrote those song lyrics in a poem I gave to in a scrapbook." If I can remember I think I lost the battle over whether to include poems in the Prince scrapbook, and we eventually DID include some poems (because it's hard not to-- other than photos there's not much else you can include). I know the scrapbook was given to The Artist but I have no idea whether he ever looked at it. Just my 2 cents. - -Larr __________________________________________ NetZero - Defenders of the Free World Get your FREE Internet Access and Email at http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2000 16:57:35 EST From: DotSeurat2@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] Website with real video? Hey all- I was browsing the net pretty late last night and found a page that had a TON of Sheryl's videos available for download. Not just a few, but damn, it seemed like all of them!! Unless I was halucinating... Now I have no idea why I didn't bookmark this site. Only reason I can think of is that it was a link from another page...does anyone know where this is?? You could see video of Difficult Kind (which I think I have only seen once) and so many others...was I just imagining this? Anyone have any idea? I'm going loony trying to find it!!! Thanks so much! Well, crazy or not this person has some problems and I hope they get help. As for if there is any truth to this I don't know, it has always seemed like Sheryl has been honest about her songs and who helped her and where her inspiration came from, there is no possible way that I without undoubtable proof could believe that she would lie about it all. I wish this person the best though and hope that they get the help that they obviously need. Take care. The thing is I think he's full of $hit, and quite frankly he's got some issues to solve. Let the freak alone I guess, nothing we can do, just funny how some people say someone's work was taken from them. WHat does Strong Enough have anything to do with his experiences? Whatever. If I happen to get a few before the book is sent however, I will definitely stick them in with the rest. Many of you have asked about seeing the book , etc. I will do my best to get a few pics of it up on the site when possible. As of late, it has been difficult to update that page because the ice/snow storm here on the east coast left me stranded at a friend's house with no computer. So, if you haven't seen your name up on the site ... that would be the reason . I presume that I'll add all of the names within the next day or so ... so keep checking back . Hope everyone is doing well :-) Take it easy - Hilary ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2000 23:19:27 -0500 From: "Robin Sylvestre" Subject: [sheryl-crew] Knowitpoet I'm beginning to like this, it's getting funnier everyday. If anything he or she is merely an actor / ress looking to "flame." As you might be able to see this person has already made us go through days of psychoanylsis and discussion of a character who does not exist. Might I remind you that this person is on AOL and (as many of you do) has access to 5 email adresses / accounts. Further more he or she can change them at will essentially causing this discussion group more havok then we coould possibly ever inflict on them. If the issues he brought up are valid then I suggest we discuss them, not this representation we have all been fighting.
