Fans Hey Crew, This is mostly for Sheryl Crow fans in the Los Angeles area: This Wednesday night (February 2), Shannon Curfman with special guest Bramhall will be playing at the Roxy in Hollywood. Curfman, in case you're not aware, does a cover of "Hard To Make A Stand" on her album LOUD GUITARS BIG SUSPICIONS, and Bramhall is managed by Sheryl's management. I suspected that if Sheryl were in town, she might be at the show. Well I just got an e-mail from a friend (who's an industry "insider") with this: << rumor has it that a famous guitarist who is known as "Slowhand" will play with Bramhall. Also rumored is that he will be bringing his ex-girlfriend with him...... >> In plain English, Sheryl Crow and Eric Clapton are rumored to be at the show. And I will definitely be there to tell you all about it! :) If anyone else has plans to go, let me know! Actually, the reason for the price mark up is because the canadian dollar isn't worth very much right now. At last glance their dollar was worth a little more than half of ours. So $27.99 can = about 15$ US The catch to this is that the Canadians' economy isn't getting much better (Its been like this for six months) To break that down, lets all take a trip to Canada and by cheap (as far as the US is concerned) stuff! I mail ordered a pair of AMERICAN combat boots from a canadian retailer for 9$ (US) including shipping. - -Jonathan ::with big neon sign "NERD" above head:: On Thu, 27 Jan 2000, Christina Clark wrote: > << $27.99 >> > Why is it so much in Canada? > > Because we get ripped off big-time on everything. I ain't no music major or a singer, but it could make an interesting discussion. :) Name any songs you think that challeged Sheryl's voice. Speaking of songs, I've often wondered what her version of "Cold Turkey" sounded like. Lennon's version always sent shivers up my spine when he got to the screaming part. Ya, that sucks for us though! haha, but did you know that the Canadian dollar is actually at a 2 year high? Who woulda thought? You know what sucks? Going down to the US on a trip, all you can think of is: "a $10 meal? hmmm, that is actually costing me $15, or a 5 dollar McD's meal, is actually $7.50 and that sucks. oh well, I ordered and got it for $18 total, as opposed to the $35 it would have cost me, which is great! I feel like I live in the US! Christina :o) now if only I could get the courage to tell my dad I used his credit card without asking....hehe...he. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2000 02:09:53 -0500 From: "Christina Clark" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Sing it again The only songs I can think of that would give Sheryl even a small bit of difficulty would be Mississippi (high vocals) and IIMYH, I'm sure she would have to be warmed up fairly well to hit those higher parts in the chorus, I'm sure that's why she usually does this song after a few others in a concert. As to other songs that I think may give her a little difficulty? Let me think about this for awhile!
