I'm 18 and (of course) I love Sheryl Crow. I live in the USA (Louisville, KY to be more specific), and I wish that more SHeryl singles were made available in the US instead of having to shell out $10-$15 for 3 (incredible, but only 3) tracks. Though I don't like to admit it since it appears I jumped on the bandwagon, I've been a fan since "All I Wanna Do" cracked into the top 40 in 1994. To redeem myself, I must say that when I purchased the CD Tuesday Night Music Club I instantly found a liking in every song on the album...my favorite being "We Do What We Can". I proceded to purchase the 3 CD's since on their respective release dates, and life would be unbearable without them. This will inevidably sound immature (creating a list and all) but, my favorite songs are: "Maybe That's Something" "On The Outside" "Hard To Make A Stand" "We Do What We Can" "Anything But Down". I still haven't gotten the new "Rockin' The Globe" video, but awhilst waiting, I downloaded the entire unreleased album on MP3 tonight. Mesmerizing...It's actually quite good. I especially like "What Does It Matter". Anyway, I'll quit boring you. :) If someone would be able to bring me up to date on the current "hot topics" on the list, as well as offering info on themselves, I would be very greatful. Thank you, Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Hi, this is my first "real" post, so if this is an already discussed topic we'll drop it, but I was wondering what everyones most prized Sheryl posession is. Be it as simple as your copy of "The Globe Sessions" from a friends CD or a pair of jeans once worn by Sheryl herself...if you had to choose which thing brings you the biggest thrill to have, what would it be? I personally don't have a large collection (only about 30 cd's including singles), but if I had to choose of everything I have , it would be my life-sized stand up display that holds the first 3 albums. It's a bit more than 5 foot tall, and it's the back-cover picture of Sheryl from the Globe Sessions CD. It shows her full body and a little bit of ground and to the side there were slots titled with each album that held multiple copies of each disc to catch record store shoppers attention. It caught mine, and after several failed attempts at slipping a hat and jacket on her and casually walking out the door with a new (albeit black and white/one deminsional) friend, I finally had the cashier put my name on the back for when the display was of no use to them anymore. This was in November 98...cut 3 months, and still they weren't done. Then Sheryl just HAD to win some Grammy's and it wasn't until early may that I revisited this particular store. When I did go back (remember this is now May), NO SHERYL! I was pissed thinking someone else had claimed my prize, so I went to a worker on the floor and asked what had become of my 5 foot friend. He was saddened to tell me that she had been crushed and shipped to a garbage dump where she would decompose into nothing. Then (on a whim) I saw another worker and pretended as though I hadn't asked the previous one, and he said he'd check the backroom for me. 20 minutes later I saw Sheryl's head bobbing up and down high above the CD racks and words cannot express my state of happiness at that moment. So, being that my mom was my escort for the day, we carefully placed Sheryl longways across the backseat with Sheryl's head hanging out the window. We got several responses driving down main roads and highways. (One guy even yelled "She rocks!"...common knowledge, but at least some people have good taste.) She now resides in my room where I have each album and a few corresponding singles behind each. Although a few nightmares have ensued about it coming to life and eating my CD collection, I see it when I wake up every morning, and it inspires me to get up and make the most of each day. (ahem) THANK YOU **bows** THANK YOU **bows** Sorry that was so lengthy... :) It won't happen again. Keep it going............. Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Even if this isn't the way she intended them, this is the way I see them. "Stood close enough to hear (them) say 'do as the beautiful once did'" (Originally thought she said 'Do as the beautiful ONES DO- I actually like that better, but anyhoo). I was rideculed in school because I was really shy and I'm not unattractive, but I was always made to feel like I was ugly and unintelligent. So I always think about when people would talk at me instead of to me telling me what was wrong with me etc. I always felt like I was standing outside of myself watching this and wondering why I didn't turn around and defend myself or knock their asses out, but I stood their frozen. And the "isn't my fault, heredity" reminds of my nerve problems being hereditary. So, it's a special song to me and one with which I can totally relate.
