My last boyfriend was totally like that; I was doing everything for him, and getting nothing back. I love the way she sings this song, too; she has just the right amount of bitterness in her voice. I like "Home", too. We've talked about how Sheryl seems "happier" lately; let's hope she'll write some happy songs we can relate to!! "Anything But Down" is a song that I can *sooo* relate to! I felt this way even before TGS came out and before I even heard the song. Just by reading a quote taken from Sheryl that about how she described the song: "There are those people you love, but everytime you talk to them, they bring you down and you can't figure out why you care." And that's EXAAACTLY how I feel. I can definitely find a piece of myself in it everytime I listen to it. She really said that? Wow, that describes my life so well. Geez, I felt like I was just being psychoanalyzed when I read that! It's not really the song that totally jumps out at me, but it can be applied to me in a way. Just like "Am I Getting Through." A lot of the lyrics don't describe me, but a lot do. I like the contradictions in that song, such as "I am strong, I am able, I spill milk on your table, then I cry like a baby just to see if you save me." What about lines? I've had plenty of lines that really pop out at me, and I just say, whoa, that was written for me. Here's the biggest one: "I'm just wondering why I feel so all alone/Why I'm a stranger in my own life." This was about six years ago and he has asked me out three times since. The last time was about two months ago when I ran into him at the video store. Its a wonderful video, and the crowd seems really into her performance (not to mention the crowd is rather large - looks like an Arena or something). I just wanted to say the video is great, and well worth its price. If you are having problems finding it check out www.hmv.ca . They ship to the states as well and I always receive my orders two days after the purchase (I live In Canada).... BoBBy ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 00:08:23 -0500 From: "F. It was broadcast as part of a radio show called "Live From The Pit" in 1997, the broadcast transcription CD of which was the source for the "Angels Aliens And Elvis" boot. Frankly, I've always found the quality on the broadcast CDs a little sharper than AA&E. Didn't listen to the MP3s, but perhaps their quality is a tad down from AA&E because they were taped off air. Just a thought. Also, of course, it could have happened when making the MP3s from the source (be it AA&E, a tape of the broadcast, or the actual transcription discs). Anyway, I ramble. Hope that clears up why "Live At The Roxy in Atlanta" is also known as "Live From The Pit".
