For Sheryl's last 2 birthdays, a few of the members of the Unofficial Sheryl Crow Mailing List (Sheryl Crew and this list, scnews) have put together a book of personal letters, poems, and messages to give to Sheryl as a gift from her fans, and we have been quite successful in giving her the book. At Sheryl's chat the other night, I submitted a question asking Sheryl's thoughts on receiving another birthday book from us, if maybe another one would be too much. It was answered, and here's what Sheryl said: "I would love that! I love that book [referring to the old one]. It's one of my keepsakes from the past 10 years of touring. I thought it was great, and I'd love another one. So get going." Well the list is once again putting another book together for Sheryl's 38th birthday on February 11, 2000. We're hoping this will be the best book yet, and again, we're opening it up to members of this scnews list. Here's the information you need. Any questions can be sent to me (scfanclub2@aol.com) or the person in charge of putting the book together, Hilary at HILARYL123@aol.com: 1. You can send letters (poems, etc) of any length (meaning the # of pages that can be contributed is unlimited, but must be a reasonable amount; and please use standard sized paper, which in the US is 8.5x11 inches); you may include photographs (which you must make sure you paste onto the paper yourself; no nude or obscene pics!! i trust you guys!) or anything else you might creatively think of (nothing too weird please, and NO SONGS or TAPES); also please try to be neat if you can and make sure your letters, etc. are not offensive; i.e., refrain from obscene language and/or comments.) You can share your feelings about Sheryl and her music, why she inspires you, what it is you like about her, etc. But as I mentioned before, please keep it decent. 2. The deadline for Hilary receiving all of the materials to be included is Saturday , January 15. Hopefully , this allows everyone to enjoy their holiday season without having to worry about getting anything out too soon . Also, this gives Hilary plenty of time to gather everything and get it ready to roll ! She promises everyone that he book will be no less amazing than the last and guaranteed to impress Ms. Crow ! While most pics would be of better quality in the end if they were actually sent to her via regular mail , she'll do her best with scans as well .
