Used to be a big GN'R fan in those nutty high school days. THESE days I much prefer the Sheryl version! > If It Makes You Happy --VS-- Everyday Is A Winding Road= Tough call. It's a tie, sorry. Can't choose! > Anything But Down --VS-- The Difficult Kind= TDK, my favorite song by Sheryl ever. It just speaks to me. > Peak note: Anything But Down --VS-- Am I Getting Through= ABD > (There's one really intense loud part of both.. I hope > you know what I'm talking about..) > Sheryl on accordian --VS-- Sheryl on bass= Bass. How often do you see a woman yielding a bass? Too cool! > Anything But Down vid --VS-- There Goes The Neighborhood vid= ABD, such a cool vid. > Sheryl Crow --VS-- The Globe Sessions= I'll be owning SC very soon, (sorry, new fan here) but TGS totally applies to life right now, so I suppose that will stay my fave. > Sheryl w/ Chrissy --VS-- Sheryl w/ Dixie Chicks (at Lilith)= I'm a bigger Chrissy fan, but I love what she did with the Chicks. > > Also: What is your favorite Sheryl lyric of all her songs? "And there ain't nothin' like regret to remind you you're alive" "Love might be great, but why lose your head?" "He's apropos of nothing and he says his name is William. But I'm sure it's Bill, or Billy or Mac or Buddy." I always loved singing along with that line. You've got a very indecisive chick here :-) *Tara ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Dec 1999 22:33:00 +0100 From: Brigitte & Michael Subject: [sheryl-crew]Sarah Jessica Parker I watched Sex And The City tonight. Love that show, it gives a great picture of single women in the 90's. We got the power girls! Anyway I noticed that Sarah Jessica Parker looks a lot like Sheryl Anyone agree? What if enough of us write Universal asking >for >> it? That would be so much better as the sound on the video leaves a lot to >be >> desired. I was under the impression that the Live From London video was on its way out of print. I doubt anyone would be very anxious to release a DVD of a title that they were about to discontinue. Especially since it always seemed like a quick cash-in, particularly because of the absence of a US release, where publishing rights would have cost quite a bit more. The fact that the LD is gone now and was not replaced by a DVD version, and that domestic (read US) importers seem to no longer be stocking it is indicative of the quiet ending of pressings, and the release of final stock which so often happens with rarer, smaller pressing imported vids. BTW, the LD is something to seek out, as the sound quality is top notch, just like the CDs of the Shepherds Bush stuff (which, of course, is what the LD is), except that it is made obvious that the crowd noise on the commercial release of the live "On The Outside" is what I will politely call "canned", since it is absent on the video, where it is clear that "On the Outside" is done with no audience, and is likely a sound/vid check. Also, for those who don't yet have it, and are about to go nuts looking for it: REMEMBER these rules for VHS and LD. US players are NTSC format. You need to buy the JAPANESE import. UK/AUST players are PAL format. You need to buy the UK version French players are SECAM. If there is one, you need the French version. Unless, of course, you have a multistandard player, in which case you can get whichever the hell you want... :) Regards to all, and happy holidays, F.
