"Sheryl Crow and Friends," in my opinion, is a PIECE OF TRASH. It's Sheryl Crow as puppet doing what American Express tells her. The performances are shallow, heartless, and hollow. Sheryl's gone corporate, and hopefully not at the expense of her artistic creativity. The best thing for her to do now is to disappear for a while. Go away and come back with a new, strong CD (if that's even possible after all this corporate garbage). And please Sheryl, GROW YOUR HAIR BACK! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Dec 1999 23:41:55 EST From: XMystery79@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Re: sheryl-crew-digest V2 #427 Was this supposed to be a professinal review or one of those sucky newsletters where people right in whatever they want? Cause I don't think a real journalist would stoop that low ..but you never know. I wouldn't take it personally, some people just don't know what they're talking about. Most of the things I've heard from non Sheryl fans is that it's a great album, so don't take that one to heart. Who needs a critic to tell us how to feel about music anyway? I'd hope most people would be intelligent to make up their own minds instead of listen to that garbage. - --------------------------------------- We've got loud guitars and quiet suspicions, great big guns and small ambitions, and we still argue over who is God............. - -Sheryl Crow, Hard to Make a Stand Sheryl Crow: IMYH ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Dec 1999 20:46:29 -0800 From: "Gregg Dempsey" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Re: sheryl-crew-digest V2 #427 Jim: you like getting flamed right? I won't flame you, but I TOTALLY DISAGREE! I thought the show was great - AmEx didn't make a helluva lot of money off the show, other that some free commercial time to introduce the new credit card. The profits from the show went to charity. Did you see the long version of the FX network? It was great - I made several cassette copies off the show. The only reason the CD is better is because it's cleaned up, off the board somewhere, and mixed somewhat. Have you ever seen Sheryl live (this tour and not Lilith)? She puts on her show just like this, and her guests with the exception of Clapton appeared at various points in her tour and on Lilith. It was so cool. Buy one of the bootleg shows and listen to that (personal fave: Madison, WI). Hollow? Heartless? Shallow? You saw a different show than I did. I thought she was going to break her face she was smiling so big (from joy, not forced). And it's her hair, dude.
