TGS, SC, TNMC 2.) What's your least favourite Sheryl song? Subway Ride 3.) What song would you request of her in concert? Home, The Difficult Kind, and I've never seen her in concert so I would like to hear everything! 4.) What song would you prefer not to hear in concert? Everyday Is A Winding Road (I don't know but on almost every bootleg I have of her singing that song, it's like she's overexhausting herself on that one. Screaming too much and a little out of key. Just my opinion. 5.) What's your favourite Sheryl soundtrack song? No One Said It Would Be Easy (never seen Kalifornia yet, missed it when it was on tv the other day, but this song has a special meaning to me, when it comes to dealing with grieve) 6.) What's your fave Sheryl Web site to visit? the site of David Ribeiro, forgot the name (and address also :-) ) 7.) What artist do you think is most similar to Sheryl? Well when it comes to career and that kind of stuff. Sarah McLachlan, I mean, they both play multiple instruments (guitar, piano etc.), write all of their own stuff, get inspiration from poems, lyrics are very poetical sometimes too. Both have a song called Home. Both performed Lilith Fair (Sarah actually invented that), both did Bridge School, both were/are involved with someone from their band (Sarah is married to her drummer, Sheryl was involved with Kevin Gilbert), I don't know they both have a name starting with an "S"?? I could go on and on. 8.) How have you fared in attempts to "convert" others to the glories (hee, hee) of Sheryl? Never tried actually, I usually keep my musical interests to myself. Well, my brother hasn't commented yet on my wallpaper I have of Sheryl Crow (the same on on the poster for TGS with Sheryl looking down and holding a bassguitar). When I had Scott Wolff on my screen he kept asking me when "that guy" could go off the screen. So I think he likes her phisically now, don't know about it musically. Ok a new question: 9) Who would you like Sheryl to do a duet with on a concert. Someone she hasn't performed with before. Bob Dylan (wouldn't it be great if they sang Mississippi together), Chris Isaak and Vonda Shepard (*holds hands above head and ducks*), I think they would sound great together. OF DISCS: 1 TOTAL TIME: 73:08 RELEASE DATE(S): Dec. 7, 1999 PRODUCER(S): NOTES: 1. Includes live version of one new song, "It Don't Hurt". 2. Features guests Stevie Nicks, Eric Clapton, the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde, Sarah McLachlan, Dixie Chicks, and Keith Richards. 3. You can watch a five-minute live "slide-show" video of "There Goes The Neighborhood" at ‚row's official website. 4. A DVD titled "Rockin' The Globe With Sheryl Crow", recorded at a May 8, 1999 show in Detroit, is due in stores Jan. 4, 2000. POINTED REMARKS Like the vast majority of all-star concerts, "Live From Central Park" is a TV special masquerading as an album. Stripped of its visuals, it sounds invariably one-dimensional, largely because the in-concert routines that typically play well on television -- audience participation, sucking up to the crowd -- become increasingly annoying with repeated listens. Though Stevie Nicks' turn on "Gold Dust Woman" is the set's high point, "Live" works best when Crow abandons her deferential guest duets and simply rocks out on her own. The opening "Every Day Is A Winding Road" and especially a thoroughly uninhibited romp through "A Change Would Do You Good" cut the respective studio versions to ribbons. But the oh-no-not-another version of Cream's "White Room" and the all-star swarming of Dylan's "Tombstone Blues" have the reflexive feel of ritual about them that only, well, TV pictures have the potential to redeem. RATING: 3 (out of 5) SIMILARITIES: Every other stop-gap live album released in the fourth quarter. BEST TRACK(S): A Change Would Do You Good; It Don't Hurt; Gold Dust Woman (with Stevie Nicks) WORST TRACK(S): My Favorite Mistake - so blatantly off-key, you almost admire Crow for having the guts to leave it on the album. Almost. THE BOTTOM LINE: Wait for a rerun of the TV special. Rate Sheryl's albums in order of your preference. 1 - Sheryl tuesday night globe music session Crow. Didn't know how else to say they're all equal 2.) What's your least favourite Sheryl song? SCOM - this has to be her worst, but then again it's not hers 3.) What song would you request of her in concert? either Anything but Down, or Everyday is a Winding Road, you can really get into the flow of these two, and that is what concerts are about. 4.) What song would you prefer not to hear in concert? SCOM 5.) What's your favourite Sheryl soundtrack song? No One Said It Would Be Easy 6.) What's your fave Sheryl Web site to visit? if this one counts, this is it 7.) What artist do you think is most similar to Sheryl? Beth Hart sounds a lot like Sheryl, but NO ONE COULD EVER BE SHERYL! 8.) How have you fared in attempts to "convert" others to the glories (hee, hee) of Sheryl? Well I've converted a few while some of my co workers think I'm just nuts, since most conversations tend to lead into discussion of Sheryl. My congressman's aide said she liked Sheryl's "Favorite Mistake" so I sent her the TGS CD, once she starts listening to this we should have another true convert. 9) Who would you like Sheryl to do a duet with on a concert. Someone she hasn't performed with before. Elvis Presley, of course this could never happen but I think it would be neat to hear the greatest male and female performers of all time, singing together. You never know with computers, anything is possible. Someone she hasn't performed with before. That's a hard question, cause there's way too many duet I'd like to see her do with people. Let's see: 1. With Tracy Chapman, I Shall Believe. 2. With Robert Smith (The Cure), Trust, that's my favorite Cure song btw; they'd be my favorite band if Sheryl didn't exist. 3. With Bono, Rodeo. Just cause U2 has this song that's pratically the same, gosh I forget the name, but so many times I've fooled my brother (huge U2 fan) playing Rodeo and he thinks I'm listening to U2 lol. 4. With Fiona Apple, We Do What We Can. What do you guys think ? David ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V2 #410 *********************************
