I had friends over that wanted to hear it and it was the first time I would rather have played the studio version than the live. What a bummer david by the way, does anyone know where any of the obscure mp3's can be found, like RODEO or stuff like that? I'm not talking about the unreleased album. let me know. I can direct you to a lot of stuff. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Oct 1999 15:22:27 GMT From: "heather hines" Subject: [sheryl-crew] Bad day at Woodstock I taped the Fox Woodstock special, and have watched the Sheryl performance often. I thought she sounded good. She did seem to be having a bad hair day, but you've got to realize, it was 95 degrees and really humid. I think the heat affected most of the performers, and was probably a factor in the riots that ended the event. I saw her briefly discuss Woodstock with David Letterman. "I've never had so many people yell, 'you suck!'" she said. Dave answered, "Try sitting here every night" or (words to that effect.) "Pearls before swine." ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: 27 Oct 1999 02:11:57 +0900 From: "Takuji Shimoda" Subject: [sheryl-crew] Sheryl on FM program Hello Crew, Sheryl appeared and received interviews on a few FM programs on Oct.18, when she had no concert. On one of the programs called "The Village," she was on the air for about twenty minutes, with two songs aired during that period. I trascribed the interview. It's pretty long, so I uploaded it on my Sheryl site. Yes, Sheryl wasn't at her best at Woodstock '99. Can you blame her? If people throw mud at your guitar? I also remember that she said on the David Letterman show this year, that she never heard people say to her: ,,You Suck!" so many times. I don't remember what else she said about it, but IMHO she didn't seem so happy with her performance there either. That's her job, don't you think she'd want to perform as well as possible every time ? There were over 250,000 people at Woodstock, of course some are going to be nasty and mean, but that doesn't mean the whole crowd doesn't give a damn. Oh well, David - -----Original Message----- Crew, you got that so true Christina. I haven't seen or heard Woodstock yet but from what Sheryl said, in a mag I heard or something -sorry guys I can't remember- she was really upset and pissed of with the audience response and she even added that it was the first time she didn't feel part of the youth anymore... and that she kept on played just because they were some people watching it on TV so she had to keep it on for them... That's so sad to hear that kind of thing from such a great artist. I mean, she is HUGE and that Woodstock audience didn't even listen to her and threw mud at her... all they apparently cared about was being seen on tv and stuff... so, along with Christina, I have to say that Sheryl's way of singing at Woodstock is completely understandable seeing the audience she was facing. Sorry for all that meanlingless story but I felt like I had something to say about it too.... See you guys Anne > >She sang SCOM very very rushed, as if she were saying, "I don't really give >a shit, you people don't give a shit, so why should I? If it weren't for >the PPV, then I be outa here!" And I totally agree with her, why give it >her all when the audience doesn't give a rats ass? > >Christina > > > ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Oct 1999 17:04:01 EDT From: RDK144@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Woodstock 99 cd I really don't agree with what David had to say... Sheryl was not respected at all at Woodstock..the lead singer from Korn even was talking crap about her on MTV when she was performing..Sarah Mclachlan even mentioned in a interview that she and the rest of the Lilith Fair crew was watching her on pay per view when she was performing..and said that they felt really bad for her. She even mentioned that if she was Sheryl, that she would've just walked off... So it just shows how much Sheryl cares for her true fans...She could've easily walked right off the stage, but she did it for the fans and kept on rockin.. If anything I have more respect for her.. And to comment on the "That's her job, don't you think she'd want to perform as well as possible every time ? There were over 250,000 people at Woodstock, of course some are going to be nasty and mean, but that doesn't mean the whole crowd doesn't give a damn." I think she knew that she had plenty of fans out in the audience of 250,000...just the ones that she noticed were very imature white trash...(I'm trying to watch how I put this) Since they were the ones in front, those are the ones that she noticed.. Don't be hard on her for that..She is Ms.Sheryl Crow...the best female rock & roller in history!! All power to her!! Keep on rocking my Friends.. I think that if she had never been in a position like that before with so much negativity, that it must have been pretty discouraging and she probably didn't have that adrenaline rush that you would get when the crowd is appreciative..And i doubt that she said somewhere in her mind she said "Gee I'll tank the rest of the show to get back at these people"...The negative vibes played a part for sure. LOL, it makes me laugh just thinking about them. She ran her fingers through her hair at one point and..lol...her hair was standing up on end, and there was back lighting so it was just emphasized. The thing is it has been very long time since I listen to such a talented artist, musician. I have her cd released last year, so i know something about her music. This show is amazing, the girl is there just with her piano most of the songs. (by the way she plays very very well) And what i loved about her is her free, spontaineous way of being. The crowd is very stupid sometimes, they shout in the middle of songs. You americans, are great, but sometimes you want to try to be so cool, that you end being stupid. She is singing a song alone with her voice, and the crowd shouts and shouts, o she stops the song, and asks for the guys to calm down. Then, a guy shouts SHUT UP SUCKER, and she something really funny to him... Anyway, what i wanted to say is i think i discovered myself a very great artist, and if anyone in this list knows something about her, let me know. If someone can send me lirycs to her songs or tell me about her life IŽd be grateful. thanks... diego, the greates sheryl fan in Argentina..... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Oct 1998 00:14:20 -0400 From: "R.
