For Sheryl they choose IMYH. Having heard it live, probably a million times (lol okay not that much, but a lot) I have to say that ..there is something off about the recording. I watched the pay per view and it sounds fine on there, but on the cd, it just seems the quality isn't that good. It's not just Sheryl either, it sounds kind of flat...Anyone else get that sense? I would say that it's not really worth the $$ if you just are interested in Sheryl, but most likely you'll like someone else on it. I was referring to the official CD, not a bootleg, I haven't had a chance to hear a Sheryl only boot yet, just the pay per view..If I remember correctly, SCOM it sounded like she rushed it a little. I remember thinking that she did an awesome job on TDK, and that it was actually a pretty good job and I was pretty impressed that she continued on just for the people at home, after reading that the crowd treated her like shit (at least the kids in the front for the pits). So I think I can forgive her if she was a little off, because it's hard to give your all in front of a bunch of un appreciative brats. - --------------------------------------- We've got loud guitars and quiet suspicions, great big guns and small ambitions, and we still argue over who is God............. - -Sheryl Crow, Hard to Make a Stand Sheryl Crow: IMYH ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Oct 1999 19:08:57 -0400 From: "Christina Clark" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Woodstock 99 cd >Crew, > >What sounds flat is her performance of Sweet Child O'Mine, I'm sorry, I too >love Sheryl, but she was out of tune in that specific performance... > >David She sang SCOM very very rushed, as if she were saying, "I don't really give a shit, you people don't give a shit, so why should I? I haven't seen or heard Woodstock yet but from what Sheryl said, in a mag I heard or something -sorry guys I can't remember- she was really upset and pissed of with the audience response and she even added that it was the first time she didn't feel part of the youth anymore... and that she kept on played just because they were some people watching it on TV so she had to keep it on for them... That's so sad to hear that kind of thing from such a great artist. I mean, she is HUGE and that Woodstock audience didn't even listen to her and threw mud at her... all they apparently cared about was being seen on tv and stuff... so, along with Christina, I have to say that Sheryl's way of singing at Woodstock is completely understandable seeing the audience she was facing. Sorry for all that meanlingless story but I felt like I had something to say about it too.... Dubbed "American Express Brings You Central Park In Blue," the concert was attended by 25,000 people, mostly New Yorkers, who were given free admission tickets by AmEx employees/elves, who wandered the five boroughs of NYC in the days leading up to the show. - -- Troy J.
