[Chris Ketchum Subject: [sheryl-crew] Re: Sessions at West 54th, Netaid... Really Kurt? You couldn't find any tv-station? Well, she wasn't on the BBC that's for sure. But she was last night, when they showed a compilation. They only showed If It Makes You Happy (I really didn't notice the mike wasn't on! I just thought that she started out way too low). But you could also see her standing right next to Sting and Zucchero when they showed the NetAid Unity, when all the artists were on stage and Bono & Wyclef Jean were performing New Day. Jewel sang a piece so did Mary J. Blige it would have been way greater if they let everyone sing. Sheryl just stood there clapping a little and smiling. And I don't know if any of you noticed but I've watched all the artists real closely and most them were singing with no earplugs. I feel like they are not really performing live when they use earplugs. Does Sheryl use one normally? Yes it was really see trough, but I only noticed halfway during IIMYH. You could see all the way trough her (strapless??) bra. But she was wearing another shirt during the rehearsal (see photo at Mtv.com) and the same one during the NetAid Unity. But she could have done an interview easily. If she would have kept on her guitar... Sometimes the earplugs are used instead of on stage monitors, so that the singers can hear what they're actually singing. I don't know if you've had experience of playing with a live band, but it can be difficult to hear yourself in the mix of all the instruments. Sometimes the earplugs are used to relay back to the singer their own part so that they can actually hear themselves. - -@^@- - -- ===================================================== Hard work has a future payoff. I watched the compilation on Monday night too and I was disappointed that they only showed IIMYH too but, what can you do. I think Channel 4 may be showing some of NetAid Saturday at 8 but I'm not sure. Check the listings at some point. I have to sya I liked the top though!! Anyway, when Bono and Wyclef were doing New Day there were a couple of shots of Sheryl and then just after Mary J. was singing Bono went over beside Sheryl and stood beside her for a while and they both sang. Couldn't hear her though and they didn't show any close-ups of it, just showed Wyclef prancing about at the front of the stage. What were they thinking?? I was realy happy cause I like U2 so seeing Bono and Sheryl (just about) was fantastic. I especially like the violins during IIMYH and she did a good job I think, but then she always does. Looked gorgeous of course and sang like an angel, now all we need is more Sheryl and less others. They played two Catatonia songs and one Sheryl of course Catatonia were in Wembley and it was the BBC. Brian Ferry was really good in Geneva but did any of you see that audience? Kofi Annan in the front row and nothing but dignataries, couldn't have been too good a place to play at. I'm glad Sheryl wasn't there. No more from me for now. Until later. In fact I was reading when Amy was introduced by Conan and when I looked up, momentarily, I thought it was Sheryl. Amy had on a gorgeous outfit, not unlike something Sheyl would wear. The two of them were really chatting on the sofa at the end of the show. I was thinking , unless they know each other, they could have been talking about their dogs. Amy, during her segment, had talked extensively about her dog. At 05:11 PM 10/10/99 GMT, heather hines wrote: >I have always thought Sheryl and Amy Brenneman look alike. Soo...I had to rewind my tape back a bit further. Great performance of TDK. :) The one thing that ran through my head while I was watching it was "Where are the fans?" You know? I could not stand seeing this old lady with the white jacket sitting on the couch, clapping along to MFM. Guess they didn't want to call for extra security to handle rabid fans like me (but I'd behave...maybe), so instead, they picked the older people to be the ones to grace the screen. How does this come about anyways? Oh well...I missed Conan and the Sessions show. I'm serious! I didn't catch Sessions! Stayed up and what did I get? Some Spanish thing. *raises eyebrow* Hmm...probably should set the timer for Wednesday nite cuz that's what the site says of when my area will have it. arrrgh... Oops..a question. Jeff Trott is a name I always see and always associate to Sheryl, but how come I can't come up with a face or something? *scratches head* Does anyone have a picture of him somewhere on their site? Did he ever tour with Sheryl? If so, I probably saw him at my '97 show, but I was too far away. Oh yeah...Christina Clark, your posts crack me up! :) Need to come up with another one of those giveaways. shhhhhhh! Be patient!
