Can anyone tell me what the titles of the other cds on this > label are? Are they by Sheryl? Are they as good as these three. Any > and all info would be appreciated. Thanks. > John Guttmann Hi, I have these 3 releases on NWR as well and have already asked the same question. But I never saw any other Sheryl release on NWR and so I'm pretty sure that the other numbers either do not exist or are from other artists (but I never saw a NWR CD from another artist either, so most probably they do not exist at all). Also I found out the show on the radio is going to be much longer too then the broadcast on tv. And Mtv.com is also broadcasting it over the net (in case you can't get in at the NEtAid site.) My tape cut off long before she even showed up. Let's commiserate Yes, that Argentinian eBay user also (I believe but have no proof) created multiple userids and gave himself positive feedback. One of the userids had positive feedback before any of his auctions had completed! Plus the wording in the feedback of the 2 userids, supposedly written by 2 different other users, was exactly the same. Too fishy. More eBay advice-- I don't bid on anything that says "buyer pays postage" without saying exactly how much. You never know if they will come back and say you owe $3.20 for priority mail but you don't even want priority mail. I insist on shipping of $2 and under for a CD -- it really only costs $0.99 or $1.21 to ship a CD First Class and the rest is just people trying to pad on extra money. I seriously doubt Interscope would do it for overseas customers as well, as that would require the filling out of customs forms, and extra shipping, all to send you something for free. On the other hand, does anyone know of any other country that offered the promotion, or did anyone who sent in from outside the US actually recieve the single? Regards, F. The Artist Formerly Known As Prince asked her to play harmonica on his new album, so she flew to his Minneapolis studio. An ex-boyfriend asked her to write the score for Dill Scallion, so she did in three or four days and threw in two songs for good measure. And Bono invited her to participate in Saturday's three-city NetAid benefit concert for "poverty philanthropy" (her words), so she's going to be at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. "I'm playing 20 minutes somewhere in between Counting Crows and Black Crowes," Crow tells Wall of Sound with a cackle. There's even going to be a soundcheck on the day of show, a rarity for multi-act stadium benefits. Other acts in New Jersey include Wyclef Jean (who will sing the NetAid anthem "New Day" with Bono) Puff Daddy, Jewel, and Celine Dion; the other concerts are in London and Geneva. Crow has done her share of big gigs lately. Three weeks ago, she hosted a benefit in New York's Central Park with guests Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Stevie Nicks, Chrissie Hynde, and the Dixie Chicks, among others. And she spent the summer touring with Lilith Fair and somehow also found time to play Woodstock '99. On Thursday night (Oct. 7), Crow played a rare club gig in front of a crowd of 600 at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis, Minn., to celebrate the premiere of Dill Scallion, which opened in seven cities a day later. The mockumentary follows the career of a country singer who rises to fame with an awkward dance because he has a broken foot. Billy Burke stars, with appearances by Jason Priestley, Kathy Griffin, Henry Winkler, Robert Wagner, LeAnn Rimes, and Willie Nelson. It was produced by Hollywood casting director Joe Blake, who dated Crow for four years after working on her "Leaving Las Vegas" video. An invitation-only audience that included members of Semisonic, Soul Asylum, and the Jayhawks heard Crow, accompanied by guitarist-singer Tim Smith, play an hour-long acoustic set of her hits. (Neither of her Minnesota pals, the Artist, or the artist she called Bob Zimmerman, showed up, but she did sing Zimmerman's, ahem, Dylan's "Mississippi.") Wearing a rhinestone skirt for the occasion, Crow said she was going out on a limb for the encore. "I'm not getting paid for this gig. What the hell?," she said. With a lyric sheet taped to her microphone stand, she sang, for the first time in public, "Still," a twangy tune from Dill Scallion. The only way to follow that was with "All I Wanna Do" because clearly, Crow wants to, and is having, fun.
