Umm, "Anything But Down" was already a UK two part single, and had a US promo single for radio play. The only thing it didn't have was a US commercial release, but then no single from TGS has had that. Regards, F. Okay guys, I'm kind of getting sick of hearing everybody's favorite artists, no offense, but there is one I would like to mention that nobody else has. I recommend everybody go buy Alana Davis' cd "Blame It On Me." You might have heard her minor hit "32 Flavors" (a cover of the Ani DiFranco song). She is an awesome singer...I think she was 19 at the time and she wrote all her in songs---she is in no way at all like the "teen craze" going on right now. Anybody else have the cd? It's awesome. ===== Brad __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I have this CD, and you're right, It's incredible. One of the best I'd heard in awhile. Someone else you might try is Beth Hart. Also a new artist with a great CD.... Someone in kind of a different vein is N'dea Davenport, the former lead singer from Brand New Heavies. She's a little bit more R&B than Sheryl, Beth, and Alana, but a great CD..... Also, someone who I usually DON'T like just put out a CD that's one of the best I've bought this year: Michelle N'Degeocello...(i'm sure I've spelled this wrong). After MUCH coaxing from a friend, I tried this out, and I'm REALLY glad I did. So, I'm going to reply to a few different things. I did see the Haunting when I was in America and I thought it was really good. Owen Wilson is pretty decent in it but he didn't stand out too much. Actually, it was sort of disappointing in the end up. Actually I like Linda's idea for a regional fan club and all and I'm glad that hers is going well. I hadn't heard of it before but maybe that's something worth trying. As for F. Jason Rhoden's comments and the follow-ups; I love these sort of 'discussions'. Those are a big part of why I'm on the list. I was about to write a quick, light, reply along the lines of agreeing with him that we are all mercenary power hungry being and all that, human nature being what it is. (Ok, so just me in case somebody indignantly replies that they aren't, and they would!) I didn't think of it in that way when I wrote it and you will note that I mentioned I would do it if no-one else would or if there were no objections. Admittedly I would like the position for the prestige although my first intention was promotion of Sheryl and her music. Anyway, nevermind, I'm not sure that I would know how to go about setting up a fan club but I am very willing to try. Maybe a lot of regional clubs is a better idea than the "Sheryl Crow World Fan Club" although I love that phrase, thanks for coining it F. Jason. Next on the list - The Naked Truth - sorry boys and girls, you aren't gonna like this but she IS a wuss. I mean it in the best kind of way but come on, that woman ( I was gonna say girl and to me she is but technically....). Anyway, that woman's day to day job is to perform songs which, I should hope, have a tremendously large amount of meaning for her and are very personal to large amounts of people, we're talking tens of thousands here in massive stadia every night for long periods of time in a row. She should not get a little stage fright on a tv show. I still have the utmost respect and stuff for her but noone is perfect. She's a wuss (I say that affectionately) but so am I and that's all I have left to say about that. Look on the funny side of things a little more. I applaud David's courage to say something like that here even though I agree with all the rest too. By the way, Judith, I love you, you absolutely rock. I love to read your posts and if you just weren't English we could make beautiful music, lol, (well, you could make the music and I'd just listen, and watch). Last but not least, the other music thing. I like Sheryl most of all obviously, but there's also Skunk Anansie, Garbage, U2, Embrace, R.E.M., I really could go on but I have too much already so I won't. Thanks for your spectacular listening and responding skills and I expect lots of disparaging replies. Unfortunately I very rarely get what I expect!! Read you soon. As someone(sorry, i don't remember who) said, the first thing we gotta do is to set up all of our goals for the club and then contact sheryl's record label, tell them about our idea and see what they think about it. I also would like to say something for F. Jason Rhoden: We didn't propose ourselves to be the headliners of the fan club in our countries claiming that we are better than all the other fans... we did it cause we are willing to do our best and all the hard work needed in order to make the fan club something really recognized and important. Changing the subject, my fave bands and singers besides sheryl (my fav of all time) are: singers- alanis Morissette, Jewel, Meredith Brooks, Sarah Mclachlan and fiona apple bands- hole, garbage, luscious jackson, the breeders, the wallflowers, goo goo dolls, the cardigans, aerosmith, matchbox20, days of the new, blur, everclear regards mariana :) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 1 Oct 1999 20:21:49 EDT From: Jwlfan112@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] Here's A Good Fan Club Place!!
