I think we'd all agree that Sheryl Rocked in Central park. We'll be talking about until she comes to Giants Stadium in Oct! I just want to say..... Natalie's voice is probably only annoying, because she is a " country oriented" singer? I think she was great, but i suppose if Sheryl sang with more of a country twang than a rock and roll voice, some of you wouldn't be as big a fan. I NEED HELP! Seriously, does anyone know where I can get ANY Sheryl BASS TABS? I play bass, but I am far from good enough to play by ear, and I can't figure it all out just by using the chords. I can't find ANY Bass Tabs for any of her songs. If anyone can help, please e-mail me at LEELUNAR@AOL.COM . I'd appreciate it! Sheryl also played it at the 1997 VH-1-Honors, together with Jacob Dylan, James Taylor, Emmylou Harris, Steve Winwood and Levon Helm (sp?), an original member of "The Band". Great performance, with everybody trading verses and great harmonies. I wish I had the whole show on tape! It prolly is, but here it is anyway: Contributors to the recent GRAM PARSONS tribute album, Return of the Greivous Angel, are gathering this Sunday to tape a TV tribute to the pioneering country-rocker. As a special episode of PBS's Sessions at West 54th, Parsons' former duet partner EMMYLOU HARRIS, his former bandmate CHRIS HILLMAN, SHERYL CROW, STEVE EARLE and GILLIAN WELCH will be among the artists rendering versions of Parsons' songs. The show will air Nov. 5... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Sep 1999 13:32:37 EDT From: Breton24@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] Re: Sheryl Crow & Friends F/X broadcast Hey Crew, Is there anyone who taped this show on Sunday, in stereo, who has two stereo Hi-Fi VCRs, and can make a dub for me? Well, /I/ agree with you, and if I do, obviously it's right! :D In all honesty, there's just something about Maines' voice that does induce a cringe every so often. Does it detract from the group's performances or anything? Not at all. It's just a little 'trademark' of sorts, kinda the thing that helps you instantly ID a group from just a bar or two on the radio. It's noticeable more on certain songs and certain intervals, but I've yet to actually pick out the 'bad' places in WOS/Fly, 'cause I've not had either album long enough to learn them. Of course, I actually like 'em--Martie Seidel kicks ass. She's got quality fiddle talent, and that's neat. However, there'll be no black-eyed peas served near me for the next interval...would hate for anyone to get any ideas, even though my name's not Earl.
