Hi Crew, Well, i read somewhere (on USAToday.com) that FX will rerun the full concert on Sunday from 8 pm to 10 pm... does anyone know if that's true or not? So, if it happens to be true, could anyone who has FX make a copy of it for me??? And, I have another question for you guys. As I live in Dallas, there's no radio station broadcasting the show, so could anyone be nice enough to record it for me??? For all that, I'm ready to pay you the charges for the tape and shipping - but, as we all are REAL fans here, I won't pay extra charges... Well, if anyone can help, please e-mail me... Also, I do remember her saying "ifficult kind", I think this must happen when her mind wanders, that probably happened quite easially in such a small, intimate concert. Another thing I found funny is Sheryl pronouncing "you" as "jew",( not as in Jewish, this is the easiest phonetical spelling I could come up with), in Anything But Down at Woodstock. "jew don't bring me anything but down" it always makes me giggle. Christina >Does anyone know the line in SCOM that comes between "He's got eyes of the >bluest skies" and "I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of >pain"? I met her in the Memphis Airport in May, quite by accident early in the morning, when I complimented her on the previous night's show, she said thank yew. Kind of like the ewe, the sheep. I know she was tired - you could see it in her eyes. And when you're tired (or angry) you tend to run towards the speech that is easiest for you, which in her case would be the 30+ years she spent in Missouri. And as far as you Americans go, sing the national anthem right now - I challenge you to get all the words right. You've been singing this song all your life and you should know the words by now, but do you? (I know, you may not care...) I think we should cut Sheryl some slack if she messes up the words, she's probably beating herself up AS it happens. So she's singing along, kind of on automatic, looking around, playing the guitar, the lights are bright, look at that cute guy, oh no, did I just say "ifficult"? So she's human like the rest of us! :) For you Canadians and the rest of you, I hope your national anthems aren't as difficult to sing or remember as ours. The US anthem is about three octaves in breadth, and is actually one big question. Sheryl has been at least smart enough not to accept that kind of singing assignment at a baseball or football game! It was interviews and her music spread out over 2 hours (I wanted to kill myself by the end!) It was so horribly set up, they played interview clip, Sheryl song, commercial, someone elses song, teaser (Hi this is Sheryl Crow and you are listning to Celebrity Cloe-up with so and so on Easy Rock 97.3), commercial and then they would run through the whole thing over and over again for 2 hours. For someone taping this, it was bloody torture. The interview was from Lilith Fair in Toronto, the sound is very bad cause backstage was hectic and very loud. When I get time, I will make a transcript of the interview part for everyone. She says some funny things about Walmart and others. In all it was pretty good, but they didn't play TDK which is supposed to be her next single, I don't know if it is in Canada for sure though. They played Mississippi, ACWDYG, EDIAWR, AIWD, MFM, LLV, SE. I also found it weird that it would be spelled "Father Sun," which is why I commented on the spelling. And it wasn't just a mistake on the track listing, it's also spelled the same through the lyrics in the liner notes. I'm not saying that it's right, just that it's how it was spelled by Wynonna, or the person that typed it every time it was used. Also, I know that the song would be copyrighted 1992 for the unreleased album, but usually the songs are copyrighted the year they are written. For instance, Faith Hill's "Somebody Stand By Me" (written by Sheryl Crow & Todd Wolfe) is copyrighted 1995, the year it was written. Faith Hill's album didn't come out until 1998. Hmmm, interesting... >From: "F. Jason Rhoden" >To: >Subject: [sheryl-crew] Re: Father Sun?!? >Date: Sun, 12 Sep 1999 19:30:35 -0400 > > > > >Yes, the name is "Father Sun" (I checked the spelling). The song is >definitely called "Father Son" on the actual unreleased promo cassette >(yes, >I looked), which makes sense considering the content of the song. (Does >"Won't you save me, Father Sun" make more sense than the religious >connotations of "Won't you save me, Father Son"? Not in my mind). So >Wynonna, or a typesetter at whatever label she is on made a boo boo. >I'll believe the name "Father Son" on A&M's only pressing of Sheryl's >version of that track long before I'll believe the counterintuitive >spelling >"Father Sun" on someone else's CD. > >And, by the way, Sheryl's version of the song *is* copyright 1992. It was one of the best I've read in a long time. Secondly, I just purchased the SCOM enhanced CD with Leaving Las Vegas as a "B" side. When I purchased it, I thought because it was a new single, it would have the SCOM video as the "enhanced" part of it. Instead, it has the video to Leaving Las Vegas. Now, does this make sense? Why would the record company put a *video* of an older song on the *new* single? As a consumer, when I read, "enhanced" I assumed it would have an "enhanced" version of the newer song, SCOM. I kind of feel cheated, ya know? I'm not complaining, I LOVE Leaving Las Vegas, it just doesn't seem to make any sense in this mid-western marketing head of mine. :-/ Regardless, it did come with a small poster of Sheryl (with red flames in the background) AND a cool screen saver of the same picture.
