Hey Folks ... This is massively off-topic, but I am hoping there *might* just be somebody out there willing to help me out (or able, rather) :) I live in Australia and would reeeeally love a copy of the issue of US Rolling Stone which appeared fairly recently with Angelina Jolie on the cover (I believe it also had a poster of Ms. Jolie) -- I've searched high and low for a record store that imports US Rolling Stone here and have had absolutely no success whatsoever. NME they get air freight copies of, also The Face, Q, everything but US Rolling Stone it seems .... thus, I wondered if someone on list might have a copy that they'd perhaps be willing part with? I would be more than happy to send you something in return -- we could surely work something out ... perhaps a copy of Australian Rolling Stone, or some other Australian music magazines, or an Australian Sheryl single, perhaps? At any rate, I would be hugely grateful if someone might be able to help me out! :) Thank you very muchly ... Sheryl was AWESOME! I seen Angie at the show also and perhaps she can give you more of a complete set list... I didn't keep track... however, she did begin her set with ACWDYG and ended with TGTN. She also sang SCOM somewhere towards the last part of the show. Prior to her performance, she played accordion with the Dixie Chicks. I'm not sure the name of the song but it was really slow and had sad/touching lyrics. The lead singer said that it was written by one of the girls after her parents divorced. Sheryl sounded great assisting the Dixie Chicks and wore faded jeans w/sequin patches and a black shirt - really cute! Sheryl was all over the stage during her set. It was a really energetic concert - EDIAWR was the most "spirited" performance I had ever seen her do. She danced and ran around the stage... at one point, turning her back to the audience and shaking her ass. Sarah's hubby assisted with this tune also. A few songs into the concert she said, "can I have a glass of red wine?" Then, with red wine in hand said, "I feel like making a toast.... 'to the beauty that is'". Then said, "I have no idea what that meant... but I'll drink to it." :-) For the concert she wore black leather pants and a black tank top. When she introduced the band, she said that she had given Peter a perm that day (his hair was all frizzy). Her sense of humor was really shining through throughout the concert. The expression on her face, little things she would do, etc... she just seemed to be having a good time up there. Sarah assisted on TDK and the Dixie Chicks did most of the singing on Strong Enough. The new violinist sounded good and seemed like she was really getting into it. So, it was an awesome concert and I'm pleased to say my very *first* Lilith. Sheryl rocks. But unlike such free Central Park shows as Garth Brooks' 1997 countrified extravaganza, which was open to whomever showed up, only 25,000 tickets to the Sheryl Crow concert will be made available by American Express, and only ticket-holders will be allowed entrance into the East Meadow. American Express will distribute tickets to the concert after Labor Day (September 6) in all of NYC's five boroughs via a promotional instant game, with winners receiving two tickets to the show. Additional performers will also be formally announced after Labor Day. If you don't score free tickets to the "Sheryl Crow and Friends" concert, don't fret. Current plans call for the special one-off show to be televised live on the Fox Network and simulcast across both the Internet and various radio affiliates. Damn it that sucks..You know You should have to pass some simple sheryl test to be able to go to that. Lots of fans are gonna get screwed because of that system, but..Oh well..I wish they would have given free tix away to fans first and then what ever is left over via that . I guess this must be that big thing they can't tell us about on Sheryl's website's diary entries. OKay so is this is actually going to be on T.V on the 14th now? I thought it was the 24th before. ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V2 #299 *********************************
