We got there at the opening so we got to check out some of the booths and got a couple of little freebies like a lilith sampler cd (Sheryl isn't on it though), one sucky thing is they were actually giving away scom singles for free at the tower records booth but they were gone in like...2 minutes or something. Anyways for the show, most of the music was good. The village stage was small & off to the side, but there was some pretty good music. At one point I think it was Wild Strawberries, Sarah came out and sang with them and played guitar (from far away it looked like Sheryl a little)..Her husband Ash also performed with Morley (got her autograph, she seems pretty cool)...Her bodyguards were pretty nasty though and whisked her away before anybody could get autographs from Sarah (felt kind of bad cause there were little kids who wanted one). Next up was Deborah Cox on the mainstage, the crowd was not into her at all, I recognized a few songs, she did a couple of Stevie Wonder ones too... Then we went by the village stage and checked out Susan Tedeschi. She was really, really good....She has a killer blues voice, and she's a wicked guitar player, imo she should have been on the mainstage, she was really nice after too. Next was Liz Phair, i missed a couple of her songs because I was waiting after for susan...She did a couple of songs that I recognized like Supernova, Polyester Bride, f- and run, and some new material but the crowd wasn't that responsive to her, most people didn't really know who she was (dumb if you ask me)..After taht was Dixie Chicks, the crowd LOVED them, i thought they were alright, and me not being a country fan at all that's a compliment lol.. They asked the crowd if they were ready for Sheryl & Sarah, although they got as much of a crowd response as either did. So next was SHERYL, who i hadn't seen in a couple of months. She sounded great, the band was on and everything. I was surprised to hear RBR but it was pretty cool because I can't really remeber the last time she played it, no AIGT though..I was on the lawn so at times it was a little hard to see her (only when the pavillion people were sitting down i could), but other than that it was really awesome. The crowd favorite was IMYH, like David said she started out the slow country version then faded to the rock one :) The crowd was singing the refrain really loud, it was great. Then before you know it she was done :( Oh Sarah sang Strong Enough with her, but for some reason I wasn't in to it as much as the crowd, partly cause it was hard to hear Sheryl when they were singing together I think. Then came Sarah she had a solid set, had the crowd really moving along, it seemed pretty short though. I was really disappointed no Sheryl for Angel :( But her violin player did come out for the song, and Deborah Cox wasn't that bad. The finale was cool although I really couldn't hear Sheryl, she was playing her accordian though which I have'nt seen in a long time ;)..All in all it was pretty fun, I would recommend it to anybody who hasn't been yet. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Aug 1999 00:03:48 -0300 From: "Diego D. I was lucky enough to get a SCOM single, I just happened to walk by when they put them out, and there weren't that many, so I was pretty excited about that. Spent much of the day hunting for Sheryl---even got myself in a little trouble with a security guard, but nothing major. Now the stuff nobody wants to hear.... I was a little disappointed by Sheryl...she still rocked, but I think that I just kne too much of what was going to happen going in. also, I've seen her show too many times (Globe Sessions tour, storytellers, hard rock live, today show, etc) I WAS REALLY looking forward to AMGT, but she played IDH instead :( Then deborah cox came out for angel, which REALLY pissed me off! All in all, a good show, but not a great one. I must say, the best performers were the Dixie Chicks--they were amazing!!! I would go into detail, but this is a sheryls fan club, not a Dixie Chicks. They were just awesome. === Brad _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Her likeness and name are copyright to her, and cannot be used on a piece of merchandise without her consent. True, you didn't use her name, but you *did* use her likeness, which violates her copyright on her likeness. Also, since the photo used as source material is copyright A&M and its photographer, you have violated their copyrights as well. One cannot, legally, just draw a photo and have the copyright revert to them. So now, your drawing is copyright Sheryl Crow, A&M, and the photographer, 1997, and copyright you for the actual sketch, 1999. It's enough to keep the lawyers in caviar til we're all dead...
