She has the most expressive voice that I have ever heard! I just happened to catch her opening for a local band here in Pennsylvania one night 3 years ago and I was floored. Her voice touched this nerve deep in my spine that had NEVER been touched before, or ever since. Since that fateful night, I've seen her 13 more times live! She has 2 CD's out. Her 1st CD is called Living With Ghosts. It is just Patty's voice and acoustic guitar. It was a very low budget, almost demo album. Most of the time it is my favorite of the 2...I do change my mind often though. She has this unique way of singing songs about her personal feelings, and somehow making her feelings yours. It's hard to explain, you just have to hear her. It is widely generalized as a folk album, but whether it's just her and her guitar or not, it Rocks!! Her newest CD is called Flaming Red. It's with a full band, which is what she intended to do from the very beginning. This CD runs the gammut (sp?) from hard rock, to pop/rock, to a solo song with just Patty singing and playing piano. The songs are just as good as the ones on LWG. People say that the Flaming Red CD sounds like Sheryl Crow. I don't hear it, but that's what new listeners say...so that can't be a bad thing I guess... I'd say the best way to get her CD's is either over the internet at www.cdnow.com or www.amazon.com. I'm pretty sure that both CD's are available in most places overseas though, b/c she does have fans from overseas. If any of you have problems locating her CD's let me know. I would be happy to go out and buy them here and send them to you if you send money to cover the CD and shipping. Most places they're around $16.99 US dollars. On the internet they're usually cheaper than that. Anyway, that is some info for you on Patty...happy listening!! oh yeah, Patty will be appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman this coming Monday on CBS. I think Song #9 from the original track listing is the song we now call Carolina and here's why: 1. In an interview, the dude asked Sheryl what because of the tracks that were bumped by Difficult Kind and ABD and she said that they're now B-sides. Well, both Carolina and Resuscitation have been released as b-sides, so that rule is satisfied. 2. All the other Bsides have good reasons to be named what they are. You always get your way, and straight to the moon both repeat the line in the chorus severaly times. 3. The Japanese Import is the only version to contain more than one bonus track to my knowledge. It has both Resuscitation and Carolina, which makes me think that they included the 2 that were originally on there. 4. There is no reason to name the song CAROLINA. It just happened to be the first word of the song. There rest of the song doesn't really fit this title. SO these reasons are why I think what I do. Do you guys agree? Forgive me if this has already been discussed on here before. I have only been on the list for a month or 2.
