I can understand, but personally, I gave up cuz it's such a hassle for me to visit a store I know I won't buy anything from. Besides, if your friend has a cd burner and the BD soundtrack, they'll probably be happy to make you a copy. Which is what I'm sure my friend won't mind doing cuz I could careless for the soundtrack. As for the Sheryl haters discussion. My recommendation is to buy them a Sheryl cd as a gift. I've done that with a few of my friends who could careless about Sheryl and/or Liz Phair. (sorry, Liz is also my fave artist) Anyhoo, when you get them a cd, they'll most likely take some time to listen to it and will get back to you. A friend of mine totally hated Liz until I bought her a cd as a b-day present. Then there's another friend where I bought her TGS and she thanked me for introducing me to Sheryl. Sooo...don't have anything against them, they just need some help. Save the world, give out a cd. :) For the Lilith setlist. I'm surprised she hasn't been peforming anything from TNMC. I'd think she would at least do All I Wanna Do. Peace with everyone, Katie ();) === ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ All apologies don't apologize. I went to the indie CD store that I shop at regularly and they had a whole box of the singles out for sale for $1.99. I picked up two and they didn't even charge me because I was buying some other CD's and because I shop there regularly. So try the indie stores rather than the big chain stores because the indies are more likely to be giving them away or selling them for a couple of bucks. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Jul 1999 10:32:51 EDT From: Hurcane17@aol.com Subject: new sheryl site hey crew, i just wanted to let you know that i have just finished publishing my sheryl crow page. Her music is kind of like Sheryl's- with a little more of an edge and more personal lyrics. Maybe someone else can put the essence of Liz into better words than I can but I have to say that besides Sheryl, Liz is my favorite musical artist. She's from Chicago, is married and has a little boy. Listening to her music you wouldn't guess she had such a stable home life b/c her lyrics are pretty raw and explicit at times. whitechocolatspaceegg is probably her most mainstream album but her best album is probably "Exile in Guyville." I would definitely check her out if you're inot female musicians but want soemthing a little different from the usual Lilith Fair music- i.e Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, etc. Jen On Tue, 13 Jul 1999 Sherylcrew@aol.com wrote: > hi guys, > i noticed that a lot of people that like Sheryl seem to like Liz Phair > now over here in the UK she hasn't (to my knowledge) released any singles or > anything > so i have no idea what her music is like > could any of you guys try to put it into words compared to Sheryl > 'cos i was wondering weather to buy her album WHITECHOCOLATESPACEEGG > oh if any of you guys have any audio smaples of her could you e-mail them to > me please? > thanx you guys > bye for now > .TOM. > > *********************************************** "A person of words and not of deeds is like a garden full of weeds" -Fortune cookie "I'm a psychosomatic sister running around without a leash" Liz Phair *********************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Jul 1999 18:39:26 EDT From: RLmom2JJ@aol.com Subject: Re: could someone tell me who liz Phair is?-OFF In a message dated 7/13/99 2:58:19 PM Pacific Daylight Time, Sherylcrew@aol.com writes: << i noticed that a lot of people that like Sheryl seem to like Liz Phair now over here in the UK she hasn't (to my knowledge) released any singles or anything so i have no idea what her music is like could any of you guys try to put it into words compared to Sheryl >> Well I know that Katie can give you an educated comparision but as a recent Liz convert I'll pipe up with my thoughts. To me they are very different musically except that they are both very capable of seriously rocking out. Liz' voice is VERY low, her song structures and lyrics are unconventional and sometimes not all that pleasing to my ear on first listen but she has really grown on me. I think one of her first claims to fame was the profanity and sexual bluntness she has in her lyrics. The other thing that's impossible to ignore about Liz is that she's gorgeous and has perfect hair .
