I've only been a member for about a week. Today I heard the song for the first time on radio. It was on Cleveland's WKDD 96.5. Anyway, I called back to request it later and they said that "I know we played it today but right after they played it they took it out of here because it's not suppossed to be on the air anywhere until Monday." Well, here's what I gathered after one listen. After you guys hear it, let me know if you agree: First off, it was more acoustic. I don't remember that in the original. Second, the guitars in this song are looser and they float over the guitar parts from the original. They don't hit every note the same. Sheryl sang the song in her upper registers, like she would be singing in the chorus of There Goes the Neighborhood. not soft as in Anything But Down's "you with your silky words..." She sang it with vigor, but no real enthusiasm. It sounded like she wasn't having any fun with it, vocally. Overall, it sounded like a high quality bootleg of the 99 tour. The instrumentation was loose and all the same instruments were there. Even the string section chimes in on this version of the song, softly sulking in the background of the song during the "where do we go, where do we go now?" parts. I was dissapointed when sheryl opted not to go for the gusto at the end of the song, during the final "chi-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ild of mi-ee-ine." She chose not to hit the high note, the first time I've seen her not have confidence in her high notes. That's about it that strikes me right now. One other note, all the "she's" in the original have now been switched to "he's." As the lead single off of this soundtrack, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a video for this song shortly. It's a perfect summer smash-to-be and a perfect fit for the film. Today I went to get my Lilith tickets, and boy was it a good day! When I got to ticketmaster, they drew a number (for wristbands), My wristband was 55 and they drew 68, I believe the bands at this location went from 49 to 80, but because the ticket sale date was changed to a weekday I'm gathering a lot of people couldn't make it, cause I was 8th in line as opposed to 18th. I was really scared that their weren't going to be any good seats left cause of the pre-order, cd promotion thing, but the first girl in line got like 3rd row so I was positive. This is how fast the seats were selling: by the 4th person buying tix (she asked for a pair) she was getting 400 levels (the Molson Amphitheatre seats approx. 30,000 I believe, starting at 100 level through to 400 then lawn seats). I was freaking, this girl 2 spots ahead of me didn't have enough for her tix so she was like "can I run to the bank and get money"? I nearly flipped. You should have heard me I was telling people to hurry up, and can you believe people were paying with interact and credit cards? I find that insensitive, I went and got cash so that people further behind in line wouldn't miss out on better tickets because interact took so long. Anyway, I finally got to the counter (and was the only one getting single tix, and going to both shows...talk about die hard!), so I asked and are you ready?????? Don't get too excited, they're not that good. Anyway I got 5th row center for the first show, and 11th row center for the 2nd! HAPPY FOR ME????? I'M SOOOOO EXCITED!! Anybody else here going to the concerts in Toronto? Sorry about this long story but I had to tell you! Sorry to sound ignorant, but what exactly is Garbage doing? Oh - I'm new here. Hi everyone! I am going tomorrow to see if public sale tix will get me better seats than the preorder ones. I got 29th row preordering, and I feel like there was no deal there! Everyone thinks I am crazy, and I am stuck going by myself to wait in line. Everyone else is crazy for being pessimistic. jackie =Þ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 May 1999 22:57:01 -0700 From: ashley falsafi Subject: Re: I GOT MY LILITH TICKETS......LONG I am not too sure about the rest of u here, but I just got tix for the artist in Las vegas, and we drove all the way there and were first in line to no, not get tix, but to get a stupid wristband. Am I the only one that thinks this wristband stuff is just crap or what? Why would they not just let it go first come first serve?? Anyways, I got fourth row for the phoenix show, like two weeks ago....I can't wait...what a summer for concerts!!!!!!! Sheryl three times in like three months!!!!!!!!!!
