And I was thinking, Sheryl would do a great version of that song. It's very short and all but listen next time it's on, her voice would be great for it. Louis ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 May 1999 17:12:02 +0100 From: "J. O' Connor" Subject: Sheryl's new 'Tour Edition' (long) I went and bought that new 'Tour Edition' of the Globe Sessions today with the bonus live CD and all and I was going to rant about how I had just spent £14 on an album I already had for the sake of six songs played live which I already have on other albums anyway. However, then I listened to it an I have to admit that the bonus live tracks are very good. The actual album CD is one of those enhanced ones too and when you put it on the computer there's a screen saver (which is a bit complex for something that only comes up when you're not working at the computer but still good), a section for songs and lyrics for the Globe Sessions (all the lyrics are listed apart from Resuscitation and the songs can be played while the lyric page is up), and a link to the website. I'd have to say that I do love this edition now and it was worth the money. I would probably have bought it for one extra track! Speaking of which, the place I bought it in also had a, Japanese I presume by some of the writing, import album of the Globe Sessions which had Carolina on it for £22 or so. Oh yeah, and it had some different artwork on the front and inside, better pictures in my view than those on our version! Anyway, I already have the song Carolina as a B-side of My Favourite Mistake but I was seriously considering buying the CD anyway, just as well I didn't have enough money with me! As well as that I have both CDs of all the singles off TGS and I have Home, Tomorrow Never Dies, A Change Would Do You Good and Hard To Make A Stand on CD as well as HTMAS on tape which is exactly the same as the CD but the CD had postcards. I have TNMC on tape and SC on CD as well as the Special Edition of SC on CD. And I've bought any God's amount of magazines just for a mention of Sheryl or a concert review. I've only been a fan since about the time that HTMAS came out and it was the first single of hers I got so it's only about two or three years. I am sure quite a lot of you have it much worse than me and have been fans for longer and when you think of how much money you have spent on Sheryl in that time, well, it's an awful lot! Just shows what an effect musicians can have on people. I've never had the chance to go to one of her concerts either so all of you have probably spent lots more than me. Anyway, I think I lost my point there somewhere but I did have one. Buy the 'Tour Edition', it's good and a little more money won't do Sheryl any harm. Ah yes I just remembered what this e-mail was all about. I filled in the card in a Garbage single a while ago and now I get notified when new singles are coming out, etc. I got one of the postcards this morning and it says that European record companies are releasing Version 2.0 again with 4 live tracks - sound familiar? They are releasing it in the UK too to avoid people having to pay import prices they say, but they are offering the live EP on its own, the 4 tracks, for £6 by mail order to anyone who filled in those cards and gets these mailings. Now wouldn't that be a good idea for Sheryl to do! It sort of ties in with the Fan Club discussion a while ago which got a little heated so don't start fighting about it again but somebody mentioned special fan club CDs a while ago and this seems like what that should be. I've written too much already so I'm sorry for making everyone wade through this! THen she started listning to the Stones and Dylan and she noticed how some of their songs had country feels to them, so she doesn't hate it anymore. TO me it is a viable art form like all others, and if it's a good song I'll like it, it doesn't matter the genre, however it just happens that most of my fave songs come from rock (some country, pop, classical, opera, man I'm well rounded LOL!) Well, I don't know about the rest of the world but in Canada, they are trying everything in their power to combat the scalpers, so they have come up with the wristbands. You get them about a week or so in advance of ticket sales and they put it on your wrist, you sign your name and stuff in a book beside the number of your band. So on the day of ticket sales, you go 1/2 hour before and they draw a number (on a wristband) and the lineup starts there, goes to the end, then back to the beginning. FOr example, say there were 100 wristbands, and the number 32 was drawn, it is first so 33, 34 35 and so on to 100 lineup, then after 100 it is 1 to 31. I really hate this cause if you are near the beginning you are fresh out of luck, usually and I'm number 7, lucky I hope!!!!! I hate this method cause it's random draw. So each person can only buy 4 tix with each band. Hope this helps, Christina - -----Original Message----- From: crowfan . You are more organized in Canada. Back here in Chicago, we show up to a Dominick's (or wherever) a half an hour early and they give us a raffle ticket. Then they call out a number and you line up in order from there (at the end, start back at one). Usually, only about five people are in line. But that's enough to change a 3rd row seat to a 30th row.
