Quick comment on the MP3s- I've been looking for a site to find some Sheryl Crow MP3's, and have never found one. I think it's about time that we get a good one going, because there is a lot great music that some people are missing out on, because they may have no other means to get it. I'm all for a site with MP3s- there's still a couple Sheryl songs that I've yet to hear. Also- if you need any help with creating the page itself, I'm here for you. I've had plenty of experience. So- let's get this baby up and running. =) Preston ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 May 1999 15:44:40 PDT From: domf@excite.com Subject: I have Voted, have You? The concert on Sunday was awesome. The crowd was really really into it towards the end of the show (not so much in the beginning) and the acoustics at Beacon theater are great. Sherly wore jeans, a black spaghetti sleeve blouse and cowboy boots. The performance ended on a somber note with the beautiful version of "Home" -- this should become a staple at all of her concerts in the future. Surprisingly there was no guest spots on the show (two years ago Emmylou Harris and Joan Osborne among others joined her on the stage). The videos in the background wre actually pretty relevant -- not nearly as distracting as those at REM or Alanis Morissette performances. Here is the set list (not much different from previous ones): Maybe That's Something A Change Leaving Las Vegas Anything But Down My Favorite Mistake It Don't Hurt Riverwide Can't Cry Anymore If It Makes You Happy Redemption Day Am I Getting Through (I & II) Everyday Is A Winding Road The Difficult Kind All I Wanna Do There Goes the Neighborhood Strong Enough Mississippi Home As for The View, my crappy seats at Beacon Theater were redeemed by the first-rate treatment I got here. We were in the front row holding a sign they designed for us themselves (mine said, "Sheryl Crow is anything but down," and to give you an idea, that was one of the more creative ones!). We were grouped with a bunch of yentas who were more keen on Ba-Ba Wa-Wa than Sheryl Crow, but I did major plugging for her during the warm-up (yelling "Sheryl Crow! Sheryl Crow!"). I got to take a bunch of pictures of Sheryl during the commercial breaks. The best moment was on the way out of the studio. We saw a bunch of limos parked outside and thought we might ctach Sheryl. It was more of a case of Sheryl catching us. My friend yelled "take a picute, take a picture!" aned I looked right in front of me to see Sheryl walking Scout out to the limo. I came closer to her and said "Hi Sherly, hi Scout, saw the show last night and it was great!" She smiled and said thanks, and proceeded on her merry way. To tell you the truth guys I froze when I saw her that I was too embarassed to ask for a picture or autographs ( I had her 3 cds in my hand as we "spoke")....but my friend managed to get a quick shot of her (orange backpack in tow) on the way to her limo. FYI: Sheryl is very short! Much shorter than I expected! Anyways that's my story - -- have fun if you are seeing her tonight! When the MTV Radio Network spoke with Semisonic frontman Dan Wilson, he talked about some of the tour's highlights, including a recent show during which Semisonic got to jam onstage with Sheryl Crow on an old George Harrison tune. "We went onstage the other night," Wilson remembered, "and played 'What Is Life' by George Harrison with her and her band. So there were ten of us up onstage, and I kind of thought, 'Maybe this is what it was like when George Harrison did that song.' Because they had huge bands with tons of guitar strumming, and it was really thrilling because I really, really look up to her." "That's more of a measure [of how far we've come]," he added, "of something where you go, 'Wow! Something has happened where it's normal for us to be onstage with somebody like Sheryl Crow.' That's kind of amazing" [RealAudio]. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 May 1999 20:33:10 EDT From: RLmom2JJ@aol.com Subject: Re: SC Beacon and The View In a message dated 5/3/99 5:09:57 PM Pacific Daylight Time, /A@smoe.org writes: << As for The View, my crappy seats at Beacon Theater were redeemed by the first-rate treatment I got here.
