I really like Sheryl´s music and she´s my #2 favorite after Tina Turner. She´s very talented and beautiful... I have her latest album which is really good... my fav. song is There Goes The Neigbourhood. I´m a 16-year old male high school student and I live in Finland. I wanted to ask if any one of you knows how many copies has the Sheryl´s latest album already sold. Anybody knows? Bye MaZa Thirst is nothing - Image is everything. I am at work typing up the transcript now, and I will post it when this silliness ends. Allow me to make one observation, however: I never thought that some of the people on this would be taken aback so much by an offer to sell extras of items I have. The underlying themes of most of the posts was "Oh, I'd *never* do that..." or "How could a *true fan do this?" I notice that these are the same people who go nuts at the thought of actually meeting this woman face-to-face. That is all well and good...I can respect the excitement that this would bring to any fan. However, my world does not revolve around Sheryl Crow. She is definitely a great part of it, but this world also includes people like Garth Brooks, AC/DC and Kiss. I love them all equally. I am a memorabilia/autograph collector. I try to get the actual autograph when I can, but if I cannot, I do buy them. I also sell them. That is part of the hobby. For instance, I sold a hard-to-get Brad Pitt signature in auction for over $150. Part of my hobby. It does not mean I dislike Brad or his work; I merely thinned out my collection to showcase the very best I could get. It is the same with the Sheryl stuff. I have lots of it. She's a fairly good autograph signer, so it has to be something unique to be worth a lot, especially considering that I probably have - at this moment - about 30 signed objects from Sheryl alone. This is a very, very high number for me and my collection. Why? Because I adore her so much. Usually I keep a max of two things from any person. With her I have 30. This list is supposed to promote discussion of all things Sheryl. I am all for that. However, if you feel you must continue the discussion of the mores' of autograph collecting/how wrong it is/how it affects your fandom, then be my guest. If you are done, however, I can give y'all some info about picking up Sheryl stuff here in Missouri dirt cheap. It's up to you. - --Michael ****************************************************************************** "...And I hear them saying 'You'll never change things, And no matter what you do it's still the same thing.' That means that it's OK to tell someone that you disagree with what they said and to give reasons why you disagree, but it's *not* OK to attack their character, insult them or call them names. 2) IF FLAMED... DO NOT FLAME BACK ON THE LIST If someone does verbally attack (flame) someone or their beliefs, then it's *not* OK to flame them back on the list. Either a) ignore them, or b) send them private e-mail, or c) *rationally* respond by disagreeing and stating your reasons for disagreeing rather than escalating the emotional reactions. This means that if something is said that trips your trigger... stop and examine why you are reacting in such an extreme manner, *before* you send an escalating response to the list. 3) NO HARASSMENT Verbal harassment won't be tolerated here. The appropriate way to handle perceived verbal harassment is to: a) Ask for clarification in case you misunderstood. b) Politely ask the person to cease and desist. c) If the unwanted interaction continues on the list, or from a member of this list via private e-mail, save the mail and contact the list owner (SCFANCLUB2@aol.com). If we can't resolve the conflict, then we'll go to the node administrator for assistance. 4) BE CONSIDERATE a) treat others as you would like to be treated. 5) NO ADVERTISMENTS, NO CHAIN LETTERS, etc Chain letters are a senseless use of bandwidth! Don't send them to the list. The Good TImes Virus is a hoax. Also, the kid wanting the postcards/business cards is another net legend that won't go away. The $200 cookie recipe is another. *before* you send out things like this... check the source. 6) CITE THE LIST If you use any information or news that has been shared on the list or in the Crow Weekly News letter in public (i.e. website, newsgroup, etc), PLEASE credit the source. If not the exact person, then at least the Sheryl Crow mailing list/newsletter. 7) OFF TOPICS If a message you are posting has nothing to do with Sheryl Crow, please write the word OFF in the subject line of that message. - ----------------------- Am I getting through? Good. Keep on Crowin'! To be completely honest, I ripped that off some other list's rules. Heh-heh. Sorry for the confusion though. On to more interesting things, I noticed on Pollstar that they have a Sheryl date for June 30 at Madison Square Garden in New York. When you click on the venue, you can see there's other artists also scheduled for that date. Does anyone know what event that might be? The other artists scheduled are: D'Angelo, Eric Clapton and Mary J. Blige. A bit eclectic, so I'm curious. Lisa p.s.
