I've noticed that people in the Alanis and bootleg newsgroups have started discussing setting up a Sheryl Crow newsgroup. Although I love being in the Crew it might be nice if the NG goes ahead! I just thought this might interest everyone. My friend told me about this site because it has SHeryl singing in two duets with Adam Duritz, I can't remeber what one song is called the other is Pale Blue Eyes, Sheryl sings this better with Emmylou However. I just wanted to warn you though, the webmaster doesn't like Sheryl at all. She spells her name Cheryl, she comes right out and says she sucks, and when you put the mouse on her picture the word skank pops up. DOn't worry I sent her hate mail, this was tasteful however because I was speaking for a lot of Sheryl fans, feel free to send some to, to show that we won't put up with that. She says that Adam makes SHeryl sound good...whatever, more like the reverse. lol!! here it is, the sound wasn't that good www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Club/5291/Sound.html Christina ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Mar 1999 23:55:51 -0600 From: Roger Niccum Subject: Re: Nashville show The Nashville show ROCKED. Martina McBride was there, so was Deana Carter. A friend from college was at the show and had great seats down front. My seats were up in the balcony, but I was able to get down to within a couple of rows of the stage before the final encore. Sheryl sang a great version of 'home' on piano with the cello adding a nice touch. A great ending to a great show. As we were leaving, we got a picture with Deana as she was hanging out after the show. We also were able to get some good shots of Sheryl on stage, I'll try to get them scanned soon and post the links - later, Roger > Date: Thu, 25 Mar 1999 10:08:23 -0800 > From: "Natalie Kathryn Wade" > Subject: Nashville Show > > Kathy still does have big blond hair. I didn't see Sheryl's parents, although she did mention that they were there. And regarding the country stars, I could have sworn that I saw Martina McBride, although at the time I just thought I was imagining it. > > Natalie > > >Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 13:55:49 EST > >From: SCrudegirl@aol.com > >Subject: Re: sheryl-crew-digest V2 #51 > > > > Hey...does Kathy still have big blond hair?!?!?!?!? > > > >Thats sooo awesome...I met Kathy & actually talked to her for a while (for > >those of you who haven;t heard me say this a billion times =^) & she > >rocks...she was so incredibly awesome......I'd love to see/hear her sing. > > > > I also heard from a buddy who went to the show (who actually, I'm not sure if > >she is on the list or not) taht a buncha country stars were there & her > >parents were in the 11th row (center) too........ > >pretty exciting stuff > >can't wait till may !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > > >bye for now > >Rachelle > > > > Get your FREE Email at http://mailcity.lycos.com > Get your PERSONALIZED START PAGE at http://personal.lycos.com > > ------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Mar 1999 00:50:20 EST From: SCFANCLUB2@aol.com Subject: Sheryl Crow Speaks On Life, Love, And Touring Allstar News: Sheryl Crow Speaks On Life, Love, And Touring "I needed to take some time off so I could enjoy it again," says Sheryl Crow, in attempting to explain why she decided to take an unexpected break from the music business last fall. Following the release of her most critically- acclaimed work to date, The Globe Sessions, winner of the Best Rock Album title at this year's Grammy Awards, Crow opted to do only a handful of major interviews and put tour plans indefinitely on hold. Barring the odd outside project, Crow bought a house in Los Angeles and stayed resolutely focused on finding normalcy. "I just let things get a little unbalanced," Crow, who before the break spent nearly six consecutive years on the road, now admits. "I think everything has to be conducted with a certain amount of levity or balance in order for you to enjoy every aspect of life. One of my shortcomings is that I love working. I love being on the road. I love being busy. Other things sometimes get sacrificed because of that." Indeed, the broken relationships that litter songs like "My Favorite Mistake" and "It Don't Hurt" on The Globe Sessions provide some insight into how fragmented things became for the singer after her debut, 1993's Tuesday Night Music Club, launched a dizzying multi-platinum career. Crow finally brought this potent material to the stage last week with the launch of her tour (allstar, March 19). Accompanied by an elaborate light and stage show, the 37-year-old singer marked her return to the live arena with renewed vigor. "I fully intended to write a rock album when I went in to make The Globe Sessions, and I didn't make that album at all," she says. "What surfaced from having taken some time off by myself and hearing the voice in my own head was this collection of songs. "The only thing I experience now while singing them is the emotion of the experience. Like the song 'It Don't Hurt,' every once in a while I get really mad because the relationship that I was in was really manipulative. I experience that while I'm playing that song onstage and I'm just overwhelmed by it. I think that's good. It keeps you from ever being too removed from the actual story, and I think people can tell whether you are just going through the motions or if you're present or not." Crow insists that her personal life is back in order now, and that she has better perspective on her career. "I'm definitely a realist," she says. "I don't look at the road and think this is the end-all way to exist. I think my personality is built for it because I never surround myself with a lot of people. I'm not a very social person. I'm probably more introspective than people think. So there are things about being on the road that work out great for that, but it isn't satiating as far as reality goes. It doesn't feel all that important." - Aidin Vaziri For more information on: Sheryl Crow at: http://www.musicblvd.com/cgi-bin/tw/6021_42_16303 _______________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Mar 1999 00:28:35 -0600 From: Robert Gallegos Subject: My Contest The winner of my contest was Rlmom2jj.
