Others recently added to the tribute concert, which is part of TNT's Masters Series, are June Carter Cash, Brooks & Dunn, and Marty Stuart, with the Mavericks performing as the house band. Although U2, Springsteen, and Dylan were originally slated to play on the show, they will now only be paying tribute via taped performance segments. The concert will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and will air on TNT on April 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Also on the bill are the previously announced Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, and Trisha Yearwood. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Mar 1999 08:48:10 -0800 From: Wagener Gregg C PHCA Subject: Introduction & Santa Barbara ticket trade Hi! I dropped in on your list for a short visit. I'm going to be on the cable TV station VH-1. The show is "Rock Candy". They interviewed me, video taped me painting, and followed me to a Natalie Merchant concert. The segment about me will be 5-7 minutes long. The show is a kind of a news magazine that takes a satirical slant on things. It is certain that they will try to make the segment funny. It remains to be seen how much they will laugh at me and how much they will laugh with me. There will be no mention of my Sheryl Crow paintings. I've painted portraits of several famous singers and given many of them to the singers. VH-1 thought this was interesting. Go figure. Anyway, my efforts to give Sheryl a present have not gone well. I thought I would try to give it one more try. I'm seeing Sheryl perform at the Santa Barbara Bowl 7 April. However, I'm too far back to get to the stage. Is there someone with a ticket in the lawn or pit who would trade me for my ticket in section I and a T-shirt with two Sheryl Crow painting pictures? I want to be close enough to try to give her a painting. E-mail me privately. My Sheryl Crow page is: http://members.tripod.com/gwagener/sheryl.html Gregg C. Hi everyone, I saw it too, the show's called Rock Candy. Someone else posted about that show too, I don't watch it show regulary so I don't know much about it, but it probably is sarcastic. They were playing Strong Enough to some clips of the Tarzan show or movie and most of the words fit with the images, but there was this one clip of Tarzan slapping his monkey's rear. It wasn't relevent, I'm sure they just added it to make it seem funny.
