I've been playing the guitar for five years now (I only started when I was 17, which is way too late). I've always thought, "What a pity that I didn't learn how to play an instrument when I was younger!", and one day I decided that instead of just being sorry for myself I should sit down and start practicing. So to all of you who are in the same situation, just try it! I've always been told that I've got no talent for music, but now I know that I've just got no talent for (school) music lessons and music theory. I'm playing a (Mexican) Tele (sunburst, just like the one Sheryl's playing in the LLV-video, but without bending, of course) and a (Mexican) Sambora-Strat. I've also got a (used) Epiphone 12string. I think the Mexican Fender-series is quite an alternative for those who don't want to spend ALL their money on guitars. As far as I'm concerned, there's no obvious quality gap between Mexican and American Fenders, while it only takes one look to tell a Epiphone Paula from a Gibson, but that just MHO. The artists that I admire most are Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Richie Sambora and Zakk Wylde (most of you won't know him, but you gotta check out his `96 solo album "Book of shadows" and the "Pride and glory"-album). That's enough from me, read ya, Andy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 Mar 1999 09:22:54 +0100 From: Andreas Wallner Subject: Re: Guessing Game part 3 Christina Clark schrieb: > So no-ones been able to figure out my quote yet? > > "I see a lot of feet in the air" How about Woodstock '95 right before Rbr? It wasn't played here (in Slovakia) so it didn't grab my heart as "sheryl crow" had when it came out. TNMC (of course) appeared in my shelf very soon. Then I became a die-hard fan 4ever. I could write more, but that would be boring. Guitars: well. "playing guitar" is a strong word. I desperately try. The type I play wouldn't tell you much, it's a Czech one :) Maybe it's worth mentioning that Sheryl made me play guitar :) Mails: he, getting a lot of mails is nice said. People let me tell this: digests are too big, you use replies too much. One wouldn't believe how annoying it can be to get through the same message 5-6 times per digest. well. I end up in reading and reading and reading, then there is no time for writing :) But I'm not important :) Madonna: yep. she had no right to say something like that. Sheryl doesn't need to dance, she CAN sing. lol List: yeah, in spite of what I said, I'm glad the list is running again. Thanx to all who contributed to it. It sure had to be a lot of work. that's all for now. I'd like to join your guessing game, but I have no chance to get to these tracks or vids, so I just have to watch you all :) Roman - -The Truth Is The Lie We Believe In- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Mar 1999 15:43:29 -0000 From: "Nadine" Subject: Re: OFF- guitars david your page is one of the first i went to when i got online. my fav bit IS the tabs page!!!!!...... which is where i practise sheryls songs. thanks for putting that page there libby...... the triangle is a start ;o) nadine - -----Original Message----- From: David Ribeiro To: sheryl-crew@smoe.org Date: 04 March 1999 06:24 Subject: Re: OFF- guitars >Guitar players, > >One more thing, not trying to adv. my page, but you'll get there the >most extensive tablature page, and if you like Sheryl then you can get >some tabs for her songs. When you recieve 3 digest within a half day mostly filled with posts from listees who forget to to cut and paste. Cmon, it aint that hard to just cut the fluff out and put your info down that you need to add. While I dont mind the volume(except when I am away for two or three days), we can all work together here to cut down on the extra space taken up. I dont want to seem harsh here, it just seems that like for the last coupla days I have seen more of the same posts over and over again, with very little added. Now if we all could cut out tid bits that are not needed and just leave the pertinent phrase in, it would be appreciated.
