Taking the cup is half-full approach, it's still very cool that Sheryl won a Grammy for best rock album, and her numerous nominations are a tribute to her talents. I mean, now she's won (over her three albums) a total of 5 or 6 Grammy Awards, right?! That's phenomenal when you consider how many great artists don't even have one... Her acceptance speech was so genuine and heartfelt, it was really nice to see some candour on an awards show. And she sure is fit! I go to the gym three or four times a week, and I still can't work off all the good eating and drinking. She must have a personal trainer, or some righteous self-discipline. The Dixie Chicks acceptance moment was welcome, too. That song Harin's mentioned, You Were Mine, is a true song, based on the experience of the two sisters in the Dixie Chicks, whose father left them and their mom when they were young children. "Chicks rock" as they say, and for commercial country, they are really deserving -- I'm a big fan of theirs and their CD "Wide Open Spaces". Woulda been nice to see Lucinda Williams or Steve Earle play at the Grammy show, but, for now, those powers that be don't recognize their music as being popular enough for broadcast (that's missing the truth, for sure). Well, a big congrats to Sheryl on the latest addition to her loaded mantelpiece.
