I've met 2 people from the "Sheryl Crew", it was really cool. We've seen Sheryl when she arrived for the concert, she was very nice, she signed a lot of autographs and I've offered her flowers for her birthday it was a great moment for me :-) There was a TV program 2 days after the show where we could have seen Sheryl before the concert, with her band, eating ( she said she don't drink beer anymore before concerts), choosing her clothes, and finally 15 seconds from the concert. >She must come in france for a new show in a radio soon! Reply-To: sheryl-crew@smoe.org Ohki....I just happened to go to my local Borders today and what did I find? A Sheryl interview in a magazine! It's something with Billboard's Publication and is called Musician. The weird thing about this is it's dated April 1999 and this is still February! Anyways, I was able to spot this magazine cuz there's a small picture of Sheryl in the upper left hand corner. It's worth the money! Eight pages! Anyhoo, the one thing I found interesting in this interview is Sheryl talked about writing the musical score for a small independent film. Anyone have any more info about this? Also, she talks about doing more musical scores for movies in the future. What does everyone think about that? Dressed casually in grey tank top, black slacks, bunned hair and wielding a bass guitar, the versatile Crow bit into the rocker. With the song's funky drum loop and clavinet, the mini-skirted go-go dancers proved the pefect accoutrement. Crow ended the pre-show warm-up with the simple comment "I'm hungry," though none of the stage hands was quick to produce any nourishment. Turned out she had one more take to go. -David Konjoyan There's also pictures on there from today's rehearsals. If you go to http://www-scf.usc.edu/~cmejia/grammys.html you can find links to all of them. And it doesn't look like the duet rumors are true, but you never know. Although go-go dancers? Right about now Freedy Johnston would be getting off stage and I would be freaking out cause little did I know I was only 15 short minutes away from seeing our beloved sheryl! I can still remember when she came out on stage, the lights went out, i yelled really loud, then it was quite for a moment then Wally started in on the drums. Then the next thing i remember is looking to the left of the stage to see sheryl come out but to my suprise she came out on the right side! Then she pics up her gutair and says "thanks for comming" then She starts in on the gutir and plays leaving las vegas!! I love that song! It was the song that made me bcome a fan! Anyway I was standing there and the big dork that I am waved at her thinking that she would wave back but duh angie, she has a gutair in her hand, but to my suprise she looks at me and winks!!!!! Then I said to myself "OH MY GAWD SHERYL CROW JUST WINKED @ ME!!!!!!" Well then the concert goes on and I am in heaven cause i am there just 4 feet away from her and i am dying then i get out this pic of her that I bought and hold it up to her, and she looks at it, then me then the pic again, then she realizes it is her and she makes a look on her face like oh yeah thats me. I cant remember the whole set list but i do remember her singing just abut all of TNMC except for we do what we can, plus she said that she would be singing some new songs that would be on the new album due out in the summer, which really turned out to the fall of '96. Well then she sings the last song and leaves the stage..... but then she comes out for her encore "dyer maker" it was great she fumbled on the words but she always does on that song then she leaves promising to be back soon which turnes in to summer of '97. Well after the show I didn't want to leave so i just stood there thinking oh my i was this close to sheryl! then these guys were asking for her water from the roadies and they actually got it!! oh well now i am going to go and quit boring you guys...... hugs anige " Take the time to get to know me, if you want me why can't you just show me, we're always on this roller coaster, if you want me why can't you get closer? Should Win: Hill's fierce, moving solo debut reeducated us on the value of melody, eclecticism, and rhyming skills. Best Rock Album Nominees: The Globe Sessions, Sheryl Crow Premonition, John Fogerty Version 2.0, Garbage Celebrity Skin, Hole Before These Crowded Streets, Dave Matthews Band Will Win: They're nicely coiffed, polite, and popular, and they play high-school-band instruments--what's ''not'' to vote for in the Dave Matthews Band? Should Win: Crow's ''Globe Sessions'' may have been lower profile than her first two albums, but it was one of the few '98 singer song-rocker records that didn't make the form seem antiquated. Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Nominees: "My Favorite Mistake," Sheryl Crow "My Heart Will Go On," Celine Dion "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," Lauryn Hill "Torn," Natalie Imbruglia "Adia," Sarah McLachlan Will Win: Hill's most certain loss is her nomination for a cover song so inconsequential she relegated it to "hidden track" status. Any of the other four could prevail, but Crow's record of past Grammy wins could provide the necessary momentum here. Should Win: Crow's catchy lack of remorse over a regretful liaison with a charming rogue may not have been politically correct, but it made for one of the best singles of the '90s. ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V2 #7 *******************************
