I read these every day and you're so kind to everyone, you really make this list enjoyable. Now that I have found the correct address, I'm gonna post more. Oh did I mention that Sheryl answered my question about Stevie Nicks? (I know I did, but I had to mention it again) I don't even know how she answered yet because I was freakin' out too much. I guess it's not even that big of a deal is it? It sure is to me, I can't act as though it's not. Thanks for listening!!!! Lara P.S. I can't wait to get started on her Birthday Book! What was the first Sheryl song you heard? Run Baby Run >2.) How did it come about? (Radio, magazine, TV, >Lilith...) Because I have never heard sheryl on radio or anything until I actually bought the album in November '93 when it was released in Japan. I wasn't impressed though at the first listen. So I could say the "first song" I was impressed was All I Wanna Do when I saw it on TV(maybe). >3.) What do you feel is the quintessential Sheryl >song? Everyday is a Winding Road, Strong Enough and A Change. >4.) What is your favorite Sheryl song? Everyday is A Winding Road, closely followed by Anything But Down, The Difficult Kind and Superstar. >5.) What's the first Sheryl video you saw? All I Wanna Do >6.) What's your fave Sheryl video? This is tough. I don't think I dislike any by Sheryl. But I love Everyday is a Winding Road, My Favorite Mistake and There Goes the Neighborhood. While I think she looks best in Sweet Child O' Mine. >7.) Do you have a favorite Sheryl talk show >appearance? Actually we have never had the "talk shows" in Japan as US people frequently do. And I missed the only one she played live. >8.) How many times have you seen her live? (Details >encouraged, teehee.) 9 times. 1. April '95 in Tokyo, which made me convinced she was one of the best performers I have ever seen. 2 and 3. May '97 in Japan One was at a small club and I was at the very front of Sheryl. 4. Lilith Fair '97 in Scranton I decided to go see Lilith Fair because of Jewel and Sarah(I never thought these two would come to Japan in 6 months). And I picked one of only the two dates Sheryl appeared, knowing I would not be able to be sane if I could not have seen Sheryl live for another two years. 5. March 13, '99 in Las Vegas The first date on the US tour. Because it's hardly possible to see Sheryl in Japan this spring though promised, I decided to see her in the US, if possible in a small place. I saw Chris Isaak two days ago too. 6 to 9. October '99 in Japan Nagoya and all Tokyo dates. I had to go. >9.) Have you ever met her? More details, please... No. I really wish I could have seen her in Las Vegas. I actually waited an hour outside, but in vain. >10.) What is your prize Sheryl possession? Anything from her. But I would really love to have a large poster from early days. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Takuji Shimoda E-mail: soullove@ca2.so-net.ne.jp http://www01.u-page.so-net.ne.jp/ca2/soullove/sheryl/sheryl_home.html (in Japanese) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Dec 1999 12:29:22 PST From: "rica b" Subject: [sheryl-crew] Polls - ------------------------------------------ FIRST POLL - ------------------------------------------ I will make this as quick and easy as possible. 1.) For those of you who are talented enough to write songs...unlike me...I think it would be best to refrain from sending them in the birthday book. We know Sheryl would love to see the kind of songs we...er you have written, it is just for legal reasons. Musicians avoid accepting songs from people , for fear of later being sued for songwriting loyalties . You see, if a line from that persons song were to show up in a Sheryl song for example, she could be sued. So to avoid any possible hassles for Sheryl send them to the crew instead so we can read them!!! ;o) I know you all understand, so now as Sheryl said "get going" on your contribution....we want it to be the BEST! What?! Is this true? They are actually talking about Sheryl on there and if she's on drugs on a Sarah Mclachlan list? That really annoys me that people who haven't had much of an opportunity to see Sheryl perform are going to sit there and question something like that, and to start rumors. I hope that someone on both lists would try to set the record straight. I just think that it's sad, that if she fumbles a lyric or acts "goofy" someone would say it's because of drugs... Oh please....Britney Spears, Britney Spears, Britney Spears, the BSB, the BSB, the BSB, Ricky Martin, etc. YUCK!!! (no offense to those who may be fans of these artists this is just my opinion) I found it funny the only good award on there was one that they couldn't even be nominated for because it was the ADULT contemporary song of the year that deservingly went to the wonderful Sarah McLachlan for the beautiful song Angel. I will get off my soap box now but the music industry today SUCKS...we need more people like Sheryl and Sarah...truly talented musicians who have a message they aren't just telling you to shake your bon-bon or dancing around in skanky outfits and selling their body not their talent. These two artists are teen'-associated artists, who's target are young people who are easily influenced by beautiful teenage singers. So comparing them to Sheryl is completely wrong, they are totally different types of music. I'm happy to hear that Britney won some awards, as well as the Backstreet Boys, in their area of music they are excellent artists, and I feel have strived just as hard at doing what they do as Sheryl Crow has, the only reason people have a hard time seeing that is because of their being in the different genre of music. So they're working just as hard... Just doing a different kind of work... :-) Christopher Kowalski - christopher@ussjustice.com http://www.ussjustice.com/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Dec 1999 20:45:41 EST From: MsCreation12283@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] BBMA I have to say I am sorry...I was a little agitated earlier about several things not even pertaining to the Billboard Music Awards so I was extremely harsh and I didn't even know all the facts....like the Dixie Chicks (one of my favs) winning three awards or Emmylou Harris (one of the greatest female musicians ever) winning the Century award. I as well know that even though everyone may not like them--no one is liked by everyone--Britney, the Backstreet Boys, and Ricky Martin all work very hard they are just different types of entertainers. Not to get involved in this, but I just had to say that on the Sheryl Crow concert "Live From Central Park", Ms. Crow is dressed pretty scantilly, and she does say "everybody now shake your ass" Also just my opinion, but Sheryl doesn't seem herself these days. It looked like she was trying WAY too hard to be HIP on the Central Park show. What was with her dancing around on EDIAWR. She looked pretty stupid if you ask me. DOn't get me wrong, I dig her music, but she used to be very honest and she seems like she's kinda fakin' it.
