(I asked it thinking that no way in hell it would be chosen!) But, it was answered, and here's what Sheryl said: "I would love that! I love that book [referring to the old one]. It's one of my [did she add favorite? :-)] keepsakes from the past 10 years of touring. I thought it was great, and I'd love another one. So get going." Well you heard her, let's get going! The primary thing is to decide who's going to put this book together (preferably someone in the US for mailing purposes). Basically, that person will be the one receiving all the letters (etc) from everyone either through e- or snail mail, and will have to put it together like a book....Kinko's and other such places do book bindings. So if anyone has any special drawings or small paintings of Sheryl that they'd like to contribute, or even create solely for the book, let us know. As for the book actually getting to Sheryl...in the past, we've been able to hand it to Sheryl at shows since she's been touring around the time of her b-day. But by what she said in the chat, it doesn't appear she'll be touring until later next Spring. She said she plans to write and record in February. So, our next best alternative will be through Sheryl's management (yes, I do have their mailing address). I can take care of sending it (I'll do it through my work...BMG Music Distribution...so it'll look "official"). For the book itself, here's what the guidelines were for the last book: - - - you can send letters (poems, etc) of any length (meaning the # of pages that can be contributed is unlimited, but must be a reasonable amount; and please use standard sized paper); you may include photographs (which you must make sure you paste onto the paper yourself; no nude or obscene pics!! i trust you guys!) or anything else you might creatively think of (nothing too weird please); also please try to be neat if you can and make sure your letters, etc. are not offensive; i.e., refrain from obscene language and/or comments) Basically, just to recap, we're putting together a book for Sheryl's birthday in February of letters, poems, songs, pictures, etc that have been contributed by you guys, the fans on this list! You can share your feelings about Sheryl and her music, why she inspires you, what it is you like about her, etc. But as I mentioned before, please keep it decent. Once we decide who's going to be in charge of putting the book together, you can choose whether you want to e-mail your submission, or send it through the post office. I think I've covered everything, but in case you have questions, e-mail me or the list.
