It wasn't as bad as I though it was going to be *sigh of relief* =).. But it's completely different.. I like Sheryl's better.. but I think I'll always like Sheryl better.. BTW, I got the Sweet Child O' Mine promo for 2.00 at the used record store two days ago =) Scott ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Nov 1999 07:50:01 -0800 From: "Louis dePointeduLac" Subject: RE: Re: [sheryl-crew] The World Is Not Enough and other stories Personally I loved TWINE but I am a big Bond fan so I'm a bit biased, it wasn't a great film as such but I still really liked it and thought that it was good. Denise Richards doesn't really do much at all and what she does isn't really impressive but maybe it's just that she didn't have much to work with... She was still ok, and obviously something for the boys.. Overall the film wasn't very convincing but still worth watching in my view.. Ok, now, the Garbage song.. I do like Garbage anyway but I quite like their song.. I don't think it's as good as Sheryl's but it is good.. I got the Best Of Bond album recently with a selection of Bond songs right from the first one. I think it's really good and i would reccommend it to anyone but especially fans of Bond. There are some good songs and some not so good and of course, saving the best till last, TND is the last song. The version on this album has about 10 seconds of extra music on it but it's just an extra little bit halfway through that I only noticed because of my Sheryl obsession... The movie was out 26th November in the UK by the way and I went to a preview on Thursday 25th becuase I didn't want to wait any longer.. I think that's all I had to post apart from saying good luck to Tom ... The movie bites, its the most awful bond movie yet. >> On the contrary, "The World Is Not Enough" is actually one of the better Bond films--containing all the elements necessary in a Bond picture done with style and grace. Brosnan is the best Bond since Connnery and the there's a nice twist involving the two "Bond girls," both of whom are above average. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Nov 1999 11:51:13 -0500 (EST) From: david WILLIAMS Subject: [sheryl-crew] 1/2 off: IDH(live) & 007 First of all, I saw the new bond movie this weekend and it was AWESOME. Denise Richards is definitely, as my friend put it, " an actress that needs to be seen and not heard." but the movie is hilarious. Typical bond. I thouroughly enjoyed this and I think anyone going to a movie hoping to like it will like it, but if you're trying to find things wrong with it, of course you will be able to. It's really cool and way better than TOMORROW NEVER DIES. The opening song by Garbage is excellent on it's own, and as a bond theme it definitely hits the mark. Next, I taped the Central park show off of the radio, and it didn't include IT DON'T HURT. so I assume that it probably wasn't on the FX special either. The reason it's a BRAND NEW SONG is that this version hasn't been previously released. That's all. I hope it's not a single. That song is a bit weak to the untrained fan of Sheryl. If they want to sell this puppy, they should release the Dixie Chicks Strong enough. That's a sure fire hit. That's all I have to say about that. Aside from that fact that the guitar work is driven and adds alot to that song, she totally fucked up the beginning of the second verse. Remember? It's so embarassing. but I credit Sheryl for not trying to voice over it and slap it on the CD, knowing that it would have higher selling power. Oh well. I have been listening to what I taped off the radio since the concert but the only station that had the concert on was one that I don't get very well so it is somewhat fuzzy. Sheryl is just so awesome live and so are the other artist-- +Sheryl was really rockin that night, she was just having a blast which always makes the live music better. Some of my friends are giving me a hard time about buying the Cd..."you already have most the songs and you taped it off the radio" (they went through the same thing when I bought Sarah McLachlan's Mirrorball). They say Sheryl is boring--oh please--then again these people listen to Britney Spears, N' Sync and all of the other fads. (No offense to the fans of those artists, I just don't like them) I will quit rambling now and go on patiently ;) awaiting the arrival of the Central Park cd as well as my Oldsmobile cd. Some people tend to see Garbage as Shirley Manson only, when the other band members have been in the music business for a very long time, look at the drummer for example, a guy who has produced so many albums, for bands like Nirvana for example. I think both songs are great, nevertheless we tend to like Sheryl's better obviously.
