So a month later in St. louis she didn't sing it but after the show i met jim again and asked him why they didn't do it and his response was " it was on the list but she didn't do it" so the next night in Columbia I met peter again and requsested MO and he said that he would put it through to sheryl and did they do it? NOOOOOO, so a couple nights later she did perform it but that is all i have heard. Hurry and go do it, it's in the top right corner of the page. PS: after you get through voting, about halfway down the list there's a battle between Liz Phair/Ani DiFranco. It's 51-49 Ani's favor, so all ya Liz phans (like me) go vote! _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Its the only sherly crow album I have but I think shes great. I also saw her in a concert on a counrty music cable station here in Port Macquarie. I really like the song riverwide but I cant figure out the tuning she plays it in (its definitely not standard tuning). Thanks.. Scott ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Aug 1999 00:38:22 EDT From: ImSlug@aol.com Subject: Re: Sheryl Transcript I submitted like ten questions and got my stupidest one posted. It was "what do you do before performances for 'good luck'?". It was kind of ironic, because my mom made up this question a few years ago which was chosen as the best question out of my school, so I got to ask John Paxon (chicago bulls) the question. Then I used it to ask Michael Jordan at his camp, and he actually smiled at the question. Oh well, I am still thrilled to have "talked" with Sheryl Crow. Jackie ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Aug 1999 21:55:13 -0700 From: "Gregg Dempsey" Subject: Re: eBay -- Bad Traders? Regarding the eBay bad traders question: Mostly I have bought stuff that wasn't available through a regular music store, and if you read the eBay user agreement, you are only supposed to sell original CDs, "used" being ok. That's not to say bootlegs and knock-offs aren't sold. Personal experience - beware of anybody with sunglasses next to their name and a feedback of 0 (zero). This means they've changed their name recently and it's probably because they've jipped someone. For example, have you seen a Sheryl Crow bootleg CD of her Feb. 99 Paris concert being offered from time to time? The sellers are in Argentina. They constantly have zero feeback and sunglasses next to their name. For you to buy this CD from them - you probably have to send them cash - because an international postal money order probably costs them as much to cash in Argentina as the CD is worth - they won't do this. I had a friend who lives in Buenos Aires contact them, and when she told me what they said, she said no way deal with them. She thinks they are ripping people off. Anybody, prove me wrong, and I will apologize. Obviously buying bootlegs through eBay is copyright infringement, and although eBay says they regulate this stuff, they can't do everything. If you want to buy a bootleg made in the US (like a Sheryl concert recorded this year perhaps), what I recommend is the following: contact the seller by his email and see if he will sell you the CD (which is almost always a CDr) off the auction. They almost always will. (Quicker $ is a big motivator). Usually the price they ask is LESS than what they will get on an eBay auction. Of course, if you bid and win an auction, complete the deal quickly, and make sure the seller gives you a good feeling about himself. If they won't even give their name on their emails or in their address, I wouldn't trade with them. If you're buying a bootleg CD that was made outside of the US, say like on the Kiss the Stone label, or Natural Woman label, just use the feedback number to gauge whether or not you buy from that person. If you win an auction, contact the seller immediately, and use the eBay auction number in your message. Most sellers are selling multiple items and won't readily remember their auction numbers and what it is. You should. Also be aware that if you want an older bootleg like "Eating Crow" from KTS, they sell it on their website. You have to send them cash also, but they have a reputation of delivering. If you send money out of the US, beware. I have done this three times so far with good results, but I think you have to be prepared to get screwed, since there is little or nothing you can do. Just establish a relationship with the seller first, set up the deal, and go for it. Post feedback on an eBay user; they will do the same for you. If they burn you, burn them back on the feedback. You can also notify eBay if you are defrauded, but if you're buying a bootleg, they probably won't do much. Quality varies on bootlegs dramatically, so ask about it. If they used cell phones or tape recorders in the audience to record a concert, be prepared for talking, drunken screams, and poor quality. If it says "soundboard" they got onto the soundboard somehow, and I sure would like to find out how they are doing this - probably paying someone - and I am sure Sheryl would like to find out too! You can write the seller and ask questions about their auction, I always do. No return email - no bid from me! There are lots of "honest" people selling music on eBay, take the extra effort to make sure you deal with one of them. Remember that latin saying caveat emptor? It means "buyer beware". Always deal on eBay with your eyes open. Some of these folks are only out for the quick buck.
