Running on onelist since some time in the Spring has been the Sheryl Crow Collectors List (SCCL), maintained by, of all people, me! Ths list used to be by invitation only, but I think, for the good of all fans, it should be available to the general fanbase now. It is designed for talk about her music collectables, and specific releases, concert recordings, that sort of thing. What it isn't designed for is general SC discussion, and stuff like "what did Sheryl have for breakfast", or a detailed description of how many copies of SCOM you scammed off of a poor record store clerk :) Unlike the Sheryl Crew, the SCCL will be more focused, as the object is to have conversation specifically about the music and releases (or unreleases, as the case may be!), so repeated off topic posts may lead to a moderation clamp-down. So, if you wanna join, please, by all means, sign up. When you do, I just have to run your request to subscribe through, and you'll be on the list in no time. The list's official page is at http://www.jasonrh.com/sccl.htm and, if you wanna just jump to the subscribe page: http://www.onelist.com/subscribe/sccl Cheers, Jason Rhoden ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1999 10:49:16 -0400 From: CSmith@snl.com Subject: Lilith Fair in MD Hi Crew... Saw the Lilith Fair last night @ Merriweather Post in Maryland. Unfortunately, I lost my pen so I can't give you an exact setlist, but I can tell you that Sheryl absolutely ROCKED the house. She really is getting better and better all the time. The set was amazing. I think it was basically the same set she's been doing, including: A Change LLV MFM ABD EDIAWR (w/ Ash Sood on bongos) Am I getting Through (She was screaming her brains out on Part II -- I think she's been hanging out with too many metal bands recently :~) Juanita (w/ Emmylou) IIMYH TDK TGTN I think I missing one song, but I can't figure out what. Anyway, it was all good. It rained, thundered & lightninged (is that a word?) all day, but then as soon as Sheryl came on all the clouds broke and a full moon came out. Perfect. Sarah's set was really good, and a nice mellow way to finish out the show after Sheryl tore it up. If you haven't already, get out and see a Lilith Fair show. Its worth it just for Sheryl (obviously), but everyone else is great too, and the scene is just great. In spite of paying $7 a beer, no one started any fires or riots. Go figure... Sheryl was wearing white pants and a white tank top, but the tank top had a big red "S" on the front, and a big red "4" on the back. I guess "S" is for Sheryl, but I don't know what "4" is for. Anyway, early on in the set she goes "Tonight's show is brought to you by the letter 'S' and the number '4'," kind of like Sesame Street. Although it seemed like a lot of people didn't get it. Didn't *everyone* watch Sesame Street growing up? Or am I old? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1999 13:38:48 -0400 From: "Tanja-Tiziana Burdi" Subject: News from SonicNEt (Sonicnet.com) - "I love it. I love the freedom of it. I love what's real about it," said DMX last Friday, backstage at Woodstock '99. The performer was impressed with the size of the crowd - roughly 200,000 - since he never played to more than 20,000 fans and whose genre didn't even exist when the first Woodstock was held 30 years ago. Singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow agreed and said, "I'm totally enjoying (being at Woodstock)." Usually online chats work where you submit the question to the moderator who then pass it along to the celeb (most of the time someone types for the famous person since they don't have time to use computers much and suck at typing ;) )...They put people in rows , or rooms or whatever, and you can chat with people in your row, or sometimes you can turn it off, which is a nice thing because people usually don't pay attentin and type their questions in the box instead of submitting them to the moderator and you sometimes miss some of what the person says... Usually not all questions are answered. Heh I have a million things I would love to ask her but I bet on that night I'll submit really dumb questions like what kind of food she feeds scout or something ;) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1999 23:31:22 GMT From: "Clint Curry" Subject: Re: TGTN by bandmembers on Jay Leno I've heard that too!
