I am wondering what you were doing about six months ago when, for about a week, her face was plastered all over the TV because she was supposed to pick up her MBE from the Queen the day she died of cancer. I was visiting my parents & had hitched a ride there from my father, right? I was looking through his CD's & found something extremely interesting. It was a CD for the Walden Woods (a lá Thoreau) benifit. There were artists such as Trisha Yearwood (whom I saw last night at the Esplanade in Boston, shes great), Stevie Nicks, Natalie Cole, & more, including Sheryl. She was singing a song called "Good Morning Heartbreak". It was very Blue-sy, as were most of the other songs on the album as well. I was wondering if anyone had heard about this? It was so weird though, it didn't even sound like her - her voice bared an uncanny resemblance to that of Ella Fitzgerald, but you could tell it was Sheryl. But its a good song if youre into blues and all that, I enjoyed it. Maybe its a cover? I have no idea. Anyway, have a good week everyone, & enjoy your day off today if you had one! keep smilin, Stephanie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 5 Jul 1999 22:49:54 +0100 From: "Sam" Subject: 'best solo singers' - NME I was looking through the NME site, and found this from a while ago - its a list of the 'best solo singers'. Crew, I came across an interview a couple of weeks ago in a Portuguese magazine that talked about Sheryl Crow that said that one of her most "secret" colaborations was "Retail Theraphy", an album by a band called T.D.F. They say it's basically just a bunch of famous artists that got together and without revealing their names created that cd. One of the main artists was Eric Clapton... Hmmm.... what's teh deal with Clapton and Sheryl! They dated, bla bla bla...
