But there are also songs with this title done by The Cocteau Twins, Matthew Sweet, John Stewart, Los Lobos, David Massengill, Icicle Works, Chad Brockm Loren Connors, Guy Lucas, Randy Stonehill and others I most certainly have neglected brand new heartache comin on (????) "Brand New Heartache" was written by the Bryant brothers (they had cajun first names that both began, I think, with the letter B) and was recorded originally by The Everly Brothers. <> Then you must be thinking of that really terrible song written and recorded originally by Eric Carmen. But Dave Bartholomew, who also wrote "I'm Gonna Be a Wheel Someday," wrote a song called "All By Myself" that was also recorded, like "Wheel," by Fats Domino and none other than Irving Berlin (if he keeps plugging, he could make a name for himself someday) also wrote an oft-covered song with that title. t ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Jun 1999 18:29:37 EDT From: Smokefeath@aol.com Subject: Re: Sheryl with the Stones.. *Covers << - not fade away (at roseland ballroom 97 for exemple) >> This is a Buddy Holly song, first recorded by Buddy's band The Crickets. After the grammies this year, I was watching E! or VH-1 or MTV... they were doing post-show interviews. Anyhow, Sheryl was looking off into the distance and the interviewer said, "I think Madonna is getting ready to perform"... and Sheryl said, "Oh really? I would really like to see that." Then they wrapped up the interview. At the time, she seemed sincere--not like she was being sarcastic or anything. Other comments I've heard from Sheryl re: Madonna was actually on the Simon Mayo radio show. When asked if she listened to Madonnas new album, Sheryl said that she had... and then commented that it was great shopping music. She went on to say that Madonna wasn't her influence but she is a fan of how she keeps re-inventing herself. I have to admit that the first time I listened to Sheryl's unreleased album, I thought, "she sounds like Madonna"... and, then I remembered the interview from MTV's unplugged when she mentioned that she had sung for people who were very famous -- meaning they had dubbed the famous persons voice for Sheryl's. I don't recall hearing Sheryl say that she disliked Madonna or vice versa, but you do have to wonder if there is a reason there for any type of tension that the "media" has drawn up. It's from the lauch CDROM and it's just her on the wurlitzer I believe. That Launch CD was distributed free at the MTV Campus invasion tour last fall. (the one featuring Third Eye Blind) I don't know how to send it to you though. SOrry! As for the SCOM TABS, here's how it goes. The intro is just a D chord, occasionally removing the middle finger. Then the verses go D (she's got a smie that it seems to me re-) C (minds me of child hood memories) where (G) everything was as fresh as the bright blue (D) sky.... The chorus is Am(oh-ooh-oh) C (sweet child o ) D (mine). Then for the WHERE DO WE GO part, it's just Em, G, C.
