Keep hoping, but dont hold your breath. I checked with Polygram here, and they said that they're trying, they're hoping it'll materialise, but dont think its gonna happen. Firstly, her schedule is too tight, and second, it may not be viable to do only one or two countries in the region besides Japan. Given the state of the region at the mo, I doubt its gonna happen. But I AM happy for you Japanese fans, and will keep my fingers crossed that somehow things will happen such that she does decide to do other parts of Asia :) Hey Japanese fans, was anyone of you at Sheryl's concerts in Tokyo in May 97? I was at the ones at Nakano Sun Plaza (almost last row), and at two at the Akasaka Blitz, during one of which I could not see anything cos everyone around me was too tall, and I emerged totally bruised, sweaty, with my hair in tangles and a few pounds lighter cos it was just so damn rowdy!!!! People were crowd surfing?! I only realised after the concert (after developing my photos), that Sheryl had on a floral-print shirt. After a bit, I didnt mind so much that I couldnt see anythign, cos the atmosphere was just soooooo cool, everyone was just dancing to the music :) harin ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Jun 1999 10:29:21 -0700 (PDT) From: Laurence Cazes Subject: honky tonk women hey crew ! just a (few) words to tell that sheryl sang honky tonk women with the rolling stones in the shepherd's bush empire on June 8th, 1999 and in Sheffield on June 6th 1999.... for those who didn't know she did that song a year ago in a small las vegas club (the joint in feb. 15th 1998) i guess she will be doing it on the 10th and 11th at the stones gig in wembley !!!! who's going there ?? i am not because of my exams =( but it must be great shows to see her live with those guys... oh and if some of you want to hear a bit of the song you can go on my website... it is short. in poor quality. but it's the only one i have with the stones (actually i have the complete concert of las vegas 98 but i don't have the opening act....) but i know the gig in shepherd's has been video taped. maybe it's gonna be on tv ? i also have changed it so if you want to visit my site... http://www.multimania.com/rocksheryl keep on crowin' laurence === ============================= ~hello it's me, i'm not at home, if you'd like to reach me, leave me alone~ =========SHERYL CROW========= my sheryl crow website http://www.multimania.com/rocksheryl/index.html email me at rocksheryl@yahoo.com _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hey Crew, TGS is a great, great Album, but has anyone noticed the major inconsistencies of Singles, off this album. I find it terrible disorganized. First off we have MFM, which went over well, but then here (in Canada) TGTN started getting airplay, but ABD was all over the TV. Then ABD started to get airplay (currently very large, S. Ontario, nothern N.Y.). ABD just entered the Canadian charts (because TGTN just left) and now there's a new single? And they're supposed to release TGTN again for a summer release? Whats wrong here? The article was funny but I especially enjoyed the real audio version of Sheryl and Emmylou during the Cash tribute. You have to kind of painfully sit through everyones contributions to it... but, the few seconds Sheryl is singing is worth it. :-) Go to the end of the above page, click on MORE of Sheryl Crow... it takes you to the Cash Tribute thing and there you will find the Real Audio link. Set list will follow in Davids email lol We also made a sign for her saying "If U make US happy, it cant be that bad" .... we showed it to her during the appropriate song ( i wonder which one) and wahooooo she saw it she bent down squinted and read it and smiled .... made my nite anyway hehe.... Peter was right in front of us and we spoke to him earlier too so he knew who we were and acknowleged us during and after each song looking for our appriciation which of course he got ........ Sheryl looked our way several times Damn it was cool and Im seeing her tomorrow nite in Wembley so me and david will be taking the sign again and we hope she shes it again and recognises it from portugal lol Nadine P.S damn it was cool ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1999 03:10:26 WEST From: David Ribeiro Subject: LONG Review, Lisbon, June 9th Crew, Where should I start ? Hummmmmmmmmm… Setlist ? Started at: 10:40PM (40m late, that's ok) Ended at: 12:15AM Maybe that's something A Change Leaving Las Vegas Anything But Down My Favorite Mistake It Don't Hurt The Difficult Kind (where I did cry like a baby, lol) If It Makes You Happy (banner time, woooohooooo) Am I Getting Through ? (Part I & II) Everyday Is A Winding Road All I Wanna Do There Gos The Neighborhood - --------------------------------------------------- Strong Enough Mississipi As for the concert itself it rocked, she did the moonwalk, lol, and was in the best mood I had ever seen her in! Peter was cool, he kept looking at us jamming our heads to his solos and what not, smiling and stuff. He was awesome. At the end Jim threw the tamborine to the keyboard player, that we got to know (through Jim) that used to be with Oasis!!!!!!!!! Then it was thrown to Tim, then to Sheryl, and then backwards like at a wedding to Peter, he let it drop, lol. Oh, they were playing while all this was hapenning. Peter threw it back to the keyboard player, and then to Jim that finished playing the drums with the tamborine in one of his hands. Awesome… the crowd loved it… As for talking to Jim that was the best part I though, except for the concert itself. Like Nadine said we talked to him for over 30m. We asked Peter to call Jim, and he stopped his soundcheck to talk to us. He's just amazingly nice!!! He recognized me from Phoenix, eh he.We, (myself, Nadine, and a friend that will be joining the list, Maria)Asked him these things… Sweet Child of Mine: "Will you be playing it tonight?" 'No, sorry, but we will most likely play that at Lilith Fair' (DID YOU HEAR THAT US CREW?) Hmm….. About Sheryl He said she really knows how to pick people to work with, and that their sound has grown and is getting better with every record, cause they feel like a family, and that unity shows off and on stage, and at the studio as well. He also said Sheryl likes to work a lot… My Cell Phone He said Portugal's weather was so great (of course!!!), and he wishes he could have stayed longer, but they had to get up at 6AM to go to London… …so we asked if he wanted to have some fun and go out with us after the show… so he says "but how could I get a hold of you?" - 'I could give you my cell number' , "Great!"… so I did!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately he didn't call, but hey, how many people can say they gave her drummer their phone number to go out with him ? lol… We also knew exactly what hotel they were at, he showed us his hotel card, how cool is that ? I told him I was no stalker, because I was in Phoenix, then across the ocean in Portugal. (long story). He laughed and told me he knew I was no stalker… then he said "You're all here to see me anyway and not Sheryl, right ?" - in a funny sarcastic way, eh he. He's just nice!!!!!! Rolling Stones We asked him how it was to play it the Stones. He said he's having a blast, cause afterall he grew up listening to them… He also said they're letting them play 1hr, so UK people going tomorrow and on the 12th expect a 1 hour opening act, that is great! I asked what duet was she doing we the Stones, and he said "Honky Tonk Woman". Home Sweet Home I explained to him how I just moved back to Europe and that's how I was able to be there in Lisbon to watch Sheryl, and he said that Home is just Home, can't take that away, and then went off on his personal life about how he's of Greek descent and stuff… etc. Anyway, this is starting to seem like a Jim review more than a Sheryl one, so I'll go. Sorry, it's just he was way too nice, you can't imagine all the things we talked about, just like buddies, lol. Anyway, tomorrow's Wembley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Later everyone that feel asleep, David PS - He gave a note we wrote to Sheryl, eh he!!!!!!! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Jun 1999 19:38:49 -0300 From: "Diego Novak" Subject: scom hi, a question what was the cause of sheryl recording sweet child of mine? diego - ----- Mensaje original ----- De: Nadine Para: sherylcrew Enviado: Jueves, 10 de Junio de 1999 10:05 p.m. Asunto: Sheryl in portugal > hey crew > > ok i went to my first sheryl concert last nite.....
