It for a benefit concert called Eric CLapton and Friends with Sheryl, D'Angelo, and Mary J. Blige. Proceeds go towards Clapton's Crossroads recovery center. But be careful. It brings to mind something that happenend on another list I'm on. Someone started a similar site, only thing is he used a site belonging to his employers, but he only worked on it and allowed access to it after office hours. He assumed it'd be ok, since he works for an internet service company, and many staff use sites for such personal use. But someone lodged a complaint against him, and whiel the matter was being investigated, he was suspended. Now he's back on the job, but with a mark on his permanent record. What stinks is that the person who lodged the camplaint was a fellow lister (a lurker) who left the list after ratting on him. So anyways, I'd suggest care cos mp3's arent legal, are they (a real, not rhetorical question - I really want to know)? I know sites have been shut down by record companies for having audio files for downloading (officially released files, maybe that was why)? I knew someone would make me qualify that!!! Well, realistically, no one's gonna offer me that much, so the question does not even really arise, does it? :) But to answer the question, no, I probably wouldnt sell it, unless it was for a really really good cause, like some charity I'm really into? Yeah, I know that's weird, but you have to know, for me it was about the experience... I had won tix to meet her backstage, and when I got the call at work I was soooooo numb and overjoyed, I could not do anything the rest of the day. It was the first contest I ever won. When I look at my autographed CDs now, it takes me back to that day, how I felt, what was going through my head, etc. It's just too meaningful. Also, they all have my name on it! (she rememebred the spelling of my full first name, didnt have to refer to the earlier one, even after talking to me in between signing them, which I thought was amazing, since it was noisy, she was sick, and my name aint exactly easy) :) Maybe if there comes a day when I dont feel so much for her music, I wont mind selling it. But at this point in time, I dont think anyone can offer me any sum of money for it. I think it helps that she was sooooo nice as she autographed and signed our stuff. I qualify this cos I also have both Jewel CDs autographed, and despite them being more recent, I'm not so attached to them, cos I dont think she was sincere or interested in signing them. Just makes them less valuable to me.
