People would point out to me that these people don't write their own stuff. But I believed that voices were more important because that is what I valued. I would usually counter by saying that the person must LOVE Michael Bolton because not only does he write his own songs, but he's written songs for lots of other people too. But I realize that at the time I had a very superficial understanding of music and how it is made. The creative side is way more difficult than I had imagined. Now, instead of adoring Whitney Houston or Michael Bolton, I'm a fan of Diane Warren when it comes to the power ballad. I also like people who write their own stuff. But for people who want to enjoy music on a more superficial basis, I can understand what they appreciate. I think you and your mom are looking at it from different sides. Some people could argue that the performer brings interpretation to the words and music. When they are the same person, I would say this person is very talented (provided the work is good on both sides). You should also know that as long as you have the serial number, your local store in the USA should be able to have it special ordered for you as an import title and you won't have to pay for that darn shipping. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Mar 1999 12:08:53 +0800 From: Harinder_GREWAL@MCD.gov.sg Subject: Re: Guessing Game If It Makes you happy? owner-sheryl-crew@smoe.org on 03/03/99 00:06:16 Please respond to sheryl-crew@smoe.org @ SMTP To: sheryl-crew@smoe.org @ SMTP cc: Subject: Re: Guessing Game This one might be a little unfair, but it's one of my favorite amusing intros: "I'd like to dedicate this to all you strippers out in the audience...or all you people that would like to be strippers!"
