The Na Na Girl wrote: A newspaper here didn't like the fact that sheryl won for Best Rock album... they said TGS is just another "country" album and if sheryl songs are considered rock, then celine dion's songs can be considered heavy metal! What would Brazillian newspapers know about the folk-rock tradition of making social commentary in the Untied States? That's what won me over into a BIG TIME SC fan about her second CD; the way she makes 60s style social commentary about the world of the 90s. She just keeps improving in that respect and I feel that embodies the spirit of Rock & Roll in her music better than any one else of the charts today. Also, would anyone know how I could get a recording of Sheryl's MTV Unplugged performance? That "beatnic" version of "All I Wanna Do" was one of the coolest things I've ever heard any artist do differently with their own work. Best wishes and good music to everyone. Looking forward to the Grand Ole Opryhouse show on the 22nd! SHERYL CREW, I was just wondering if people are yelling "The Sheryl Crew loves you" at her concerts? If not, do it! People going to her concerts in the future don't forget! Also does anyone have any insight as to when Sheryl will be in Toronto? I am getting very upset and frustrated, I want her to announce her concert! Oh and I was playing on ticketmaster, and I went into the Toledo concert to buy tickets (not for real) I wanted to see what kind of ticket I could get, I put in for single ticket and I got 6th row center! AAAAAAAHHHHH why can't I live in Toledo? That killed me, I had to give the damn ticket back! My point in this little story is if you're going with someone it's better if you sit in single seats, you will get way closer. T-bird ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Feb 1999 22:26:12 PST From: "chris purcell" Subject: Re: sheryl crow concert taping well, i for one, definitely will be taping the show. i tape just about every show i go to, and the same trick works every time. i've got an aiwa walkman recorder with the detachable mic (and not to brag, but i trade quite a bit, and these recorders are the best all around) and what i do is i scatter the parts. cargo pants are in style (thank god) so the mic goes in one pocket, batteries in another, also one tape in each of those pockets. i get the 120's that way there's an hour to that tape, so i don't have a whole lot to worry about with flipping it over, and later on i put the tape together, which makes for two master copies. anyway, with the walkman itself, i put the recorder in a jacket pocket, and stick the jacket bunched up in a backpack. if i'm worried about security checking me out, then i be sure to pack something ELSE that would not be allowed, when they open up my backpack, point it out "oh, is it ok if i bring this bottle of evian in?" (it's a whole lot easier than trying for alcohol unless of course your recorder is huge) they say no, you say "oh, my bad" they take it away, and you're on your way to your seats. simple as that. then when you're at your seat, put your recorder back together, and you're set to go. my two cents chris p. ps: i also recommend having a very noticable backpack or bag if you're trying this. my backpack is a hunting one, bright orange. they're looking at the backpack, not what you're actually taking out of it, or what you're taking out of your pants :-) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Mar 1999 01:36:49 -0500 From: "Sean Linkenback" Subject: Re: sheryl crow concert taping im glad to hear you're taping the show - except which one are you taping? i'm trying to put together a list of tapers for sheryl's stuff , so we can trade 1st gen stuff. thanks, sean ps - i'll take my sony DAT walkman anyday. ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V2 #16 ********************************
