I do miss those days. << Ya know - no knock on the current team, but thank you for that, Henry. I worked really hard on that when we launched the website, coinciding with Evergreen. As a fan myself, I wanted to create the most satisfying experience *for the fan* that I could. Websites were still a new thing for bands back then, and we were all feeling our way. It seemed self-evident (to me, anyway) that if you want to make a site that people want to come back to, it had to connect on an emotional level. It had to be fun! Do you remember Will Sergeant's Tournament of Noses? That was his idea. Click a button and Will would suddenly have Barbara Streisand's nose, or Archbishop Desmond Tutu, labeled accordingly. It was hilarious and didn't make a particle of sense, but how could you not fall in love with that? We had the jukebox that looked like an old Wurlitzer, lit up when you played it, and was stocked with rare b-sides. Will and I built some of the very first interactive music / art mashups - ever, in history - together. World Wide Glide. This was circa 1996. I actually built the very first one the year before, for The Young Gods, and the WWG project was built upon that. The code still compiles, all these years later! I can run it in the Director environment, but can't publish it online anymore. Best I can do is capture it to video, but that's not interactive. You can see cave paintings from hundreds of thousands of years ago, but you can't play interactive art from the 90s. Don't get me started. Time marches on and us with it. Hope everyone's happy and well. best, FBC > On Jul 17, 2019, at 4:58 PM, Henry Biedenkapp wrote: > > The Bunnymen Facebook is fine, but it doesn't have the same chemistry between > posters that we all shared back in the day.
