The economics of being a musician have changed a lot over the years; it's much less about royalties and much more about touring, t-shirts and other ephemera. Plus, if the Bunnymen had EVER been paid relative to their value Mac wouldn't be driven to join a lot of other Indie artists having to self-finance their music. As an aside, I just read that Bono's net worth is estimated to be $900 million. Is there anybody on this list who believes that this one-time rival of Mac's is THAT MUCH better than him? If the choice is new music from Mac financed this way or no more music from him, I'll opt for the former and happily help fund it.
