Trying to identify song and artist for a number of songs heard recently, unfortunately they're mostly instrumental which makes it a real challenge. Any suggestions appreciated to help track it down. Sort of reminiscent of Joy Division but with few or no vocals... I think it would be fair to call it goth... the most notable things were a very heavy hypnotic or "pulsing" type bass/drum line and fairly shrill or sparkly synth keyboard embellishments periodically intruding, but then receding. An overall eerie/anxious/spacey effect. I know these songs are from some years ago, probably some 80s synth group... Thanks for any thoughts. So he said that our group was too easy ("China, Turkey, Costa Rica, you lucky bastards!"), and stopped to play another song. Well, since I was in the front row, I yelled :"But win Argentina, man!" He stopped, turned to the public again and said "England is going to beat Argentina, I need someone to translate it". Didn4t need to; everybody clapped :) Amen, Mac. And thanks England for the joy they brought to my day :) Eduardo Medeiros ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2002 18:01:15 -0700 From: Charles Pham Subject: seven-seas New Order / SFA / Air / Bunnymen show i was just thumbing through the Bunnymen messageboard before i head out from work and noticed this post from the Bunnymen management regarding this Sunday's Neworder, Super Furry Animals, Air, Echo & The Bunnymen show @ Finsbury Park: "special treat in store for sunday - watch our for a special guest vocal appearance !! anyone who was at Manchester Ritz, will know who it is ! " i'm assuming this is Chris Martin from Coldplay, yes? He was the surprise vocalist for that Manchester show, correct? Wow. should be good times. so would this be silly to make an assumption that Chris might make an appearance on the long-awaited Ian McCulloch solo record? or can it be assumed that Ian will make an appearance on the new upcoming Coldplay record? or both?
