Back then, the first tix sold were assigned the seats in the balcony. So I get there and their ticketmaster computer is down. Only thing box office can do is put me on the phone to call ticketmaster. So am leaving for lunch two hours early, walking to the New Ritz box office, and PAYING for the CONVENIENCE of being able to order the tickets over the phone. I told the operator, you can call it sodomy, extortion, whatever you want. Just do not tell me it's a fucking convenience charge. I am not convenienced! I am still pissed off about that one. That said I think this is more to do with the other two slowly upping their price over time. I recently ditched the option of going to see the latest PiL lineup as the tickets worked out at #48, with #8 being on fees which does work out to be about $15. The sad thing these days is that there are very few venues where you can pop down to their box office and just buy a ticket at face value. I think venues and bands need to be doing a bit more for fans. George, although I totally emphise, try not to let it spoil your music experience.
