If the lineage is suspect, it will get pulled and often the onus is on the uploader to prove it's not been through any lossy conversion. I had a real issue trying to post a Space Face aka Electrafixion set (derived from cassette) a couple of years and it just became a case of fuck it...it's not worth it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **************Bunnymen Online Presence******************** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ http://www.villiersterrace.com/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stevedoughty/index.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Oct 2008 13:45:22 -0700 (PDT) From: Sheldon Cooper Subject: RE: seven-seas-digest V6 #442 Hi Just to clear up any confusion. I would much prefer an official live release where I know the band gets their royalties (they need to eat too) than spend big bux on a boot where I can hear more of the patrons conversations than the band. Reminds me of seeing U2 on Elevation in Pittsburgh where the 2 "young ladies" sitting next to us (we had the isle seats) kept taking turns to get up & buy beer, go pee, buy beer, etc. Eventually we switched seats with them as we actually wanted to see the show... Have fun. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **************Bunnymen Online Presence******************** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ http://www.villiersterrace.com/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stevedoughty/index.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Oct 2008 17:06:41 -0400 From: "SSimpson@nyc.rr.com" Subject: RE: seven-seas-digest V6 #442 Dimeadozen and comparable sites have all but killed the boot industry and its profiteers. Here in New York, very few if any stores still bother selling bootlegs. Dimeadozen also has strict regulations that any commercial releases are not allowed. Even if it's out of print and can't be found anywhere, if it was once commerically available, it's banned on Dime. It turns out my first intro to EATB was a bootleg tape I bought at Bleeker Bob's in the early '80's. In this age of freely available music and info, the only way upstart bands can break through is to get as much music out there to as many people as possible. Then people start bringing friends to shows and a fan base is built. Dime and show swapping is clearly part of that equation. - -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web.com Enhanced email for the mobile individual based on Microsoft.
