I'm good friends with Bernie Connor [Liverpool scenehead of note, he was in 'Life at Brians', has his piccie on the Seven-Seas/Life at Brians e.p., mentioned in various Bunnymen books, etc] and Andy Eastwood [Sex Gods] and have spent time in the company of Jake B [lovely person] and back in the mid 90's I was invited to d.j. in the 'Bunnymen house' [as it is still known now to people in the area who were about in those times, even though it has long since been refurbished] as Jake and Eastie were still living there. The house was seriously in need of repair but it was a great thrill to see the kitchen where Les, Pete, and Will were interviewed by the BBC Whistle Test people [in the days when Belfast sinks where not coveted at all!]. The rooms in the house were huge, typical all of the houses that surround Sefton Park, built in the days when the area was populated by the rich shipping types and in one of them was a motorbike, parked on the carpet, with the previously mentioned roasting dish placed underneath the engine, although the carpet had many oil stains on it. [The staircase was equally huge so no problem getting a big Ducati up there.]. As for the party, it was in another equally huge room and I had the pleasure of d.j.'ing through a sound system that was owned by the Bunnymen at some point and had 'property of the Bunnymen' stencilled all over it. Great party but I do recall Jake coming over to the dj decks and having a bit of a gripe about the fact I was playing a little too much techno based music and saying ''we're not all 16 years old at this party''! That's about it, except to say it's still a highlight of the music side of my life. Steve G. p.s. still felt sorry for the neighbours though! - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pete T" To: Sent: Saturday, May 17, 2008 2:12 AM Subject: RE: seven-seas There's A Ghost in my House (Pete mention) > tease tease tease tease tease stevie g. go on. tell us more. purlease > etc.> > > p.s.
