Not so much ripping off, but a definite influence, same as you could hear the influence of The Doors, Talking Heads, Television, etc in early Bunnymen. Yeah, I'd say it's not really a ripoff, either. It's just plainly obvious that the phrasing and emotive plaint is.. well, let's be nice and call it an homage. Whereas another tune I hadn't heard in a long time popped up again this weekend, and it definitely crosses the line from "influence" to "wholesale breaking and entering into The Doors's catalog (specifically, "Light My Fire") and leaving muddy bootprints all over the Bunnymen's carpet on the way out to cover their tracks." I refer, of course, to "Like an Angel" by The Mighty Lemon Drops. ;) best, FBC ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **************Bunnymen Online Presence******************** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ http://www.villiersterrace.com/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stevedoughty/index.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Feb 2008 18:10:17 -0000 From: "Raj" Subject: RE: seven-seas Best new non-Bunnymen Bunnymen tune?
