Surely in the British Isles we could have a multi cultural society with equality of opportunity for all. The American ideas of society have spread through Camp America. The idea of a segmented society and sometimes an uncaring society does not always appeal to me. A friend from Blackpool, Mark Jones once stated for a joke that a bloke called Frank? he met was CIA in Liverpool. Life should be about equality for all should it not and in England people should be able to debate. I used to be passive in my oppinions and got interested in the SDLP some ten years ago e mailing there web SDLP@indigio.com. I have always expressed an interest in Irish politics and although there was a polarisation of politics in around 1968 where British troops went over to Ireland to protect the Catholic community. Although I consider myself English my family come from county cork and dublin in the recent past on my Grandfather's side. I feel that stormont is a great institu! tion and although I could never understand the pain people suffer through loss of family or segregation due to sectarianism I do care about people in Ulster. I currently live in the south west of Britain and although I have visited Ulster once and Southern Ireland some five or six times during my life I feel that there are hundreds of beautiful places to visit throughout the world. I read an eclectic range of literature and like to discuss belief and society. I feel this is perhaps an inappropriate web site to discuss politics or views so I will sign off! To all at seven seas MERRY XMAS and goodbye! Jonathan P.
